Any suggestions on how to get a snake out of a car's passenger compartment? This looks like a non poisonous black snake. I've got the heebiejeebies and have visions of an entire family inside various compartments of the car. It was inside the engine compartment. Saw it when I was checking the dipstick. I ran off and frantically looked for something to pull it out with. By the time I got back with a it slithered away but I have no idea if it's inside the car or not. I understand these snakes eat mice, but dang. I can't drive and have this thing crawl up on me inside the car!

Not sure if it’s just an urban legend, but I have been told that putting multiple bags of ice into footwells and leaving one of the doors open can get rid of snakes as they don’t like the cold.

Open the door, start the engine, set the temperature to max, fan to max, close the door, get in your rocking chair and watch $15 worth of gas go out in smoke just because you want to make sure, even though deep inside you know it has not slithered in the cabin.
Even better if it's in full sun. They love heat but I doubt it will enjoy at 150 degree cabin and an even hotter engine bay.

Remove the food source.
Peppermint gets rid of the mice and he should leave when they do...

I might just leave the door open. Sooner or later, that snake is going to get thirsty and hungry.

My wife bought a plant and there was a small snake in the pot. She just left the doors open and it left. Or you can put a cat in there and have it find it. They love to play with snakes and they will kill it.
