What is the best concert you ever attended ?

I'm sure the Beatles / Candlestick concert is likely more of a regional thing because there were MANY here who showed their ticket stubs and paraphernalia from the '66 concert when McCartney closed out Candlestick in 2014 before it was torn down. Candlestick was only about half full for the '66 concert so that adds to the rarity.

One of the best rock/blues concerts I've seen was Stevie Ray Vaughn at Campbell Hall in Santa Barbara in late '83. I saw him again a year or so later at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara and the opening act ( who got an encore ) blew them off the stage. I don't know if it was a combination of tired/drugs/apathy or whatever but I don't remember a show where there were so many noticeable clammed notes. Great concerts can be "of the moment" musically as much as anything else.

Second best was Rammstein in Toronto. Decent seats, nowhere near as tight quarters (Air Canada Centre) however their shows are like a theatre production.

Lucky man!! Two performers I have yet to see but want to very badly!!!

My favorite so far has been In this Moment/Hellyea at a very small venue in Inwood WV called Shiley Acres, both bands crowd surfed with us and I was close enough to the stage to see the sweat dripping from Maria Brink!

That would have been awesome! I've heard ITM puts on a great show and it sounds like that is indeed the case. I'm also keen on seeing BB's, Carla and Heidi are always posting wicked pics from their shows and if it half as good as it looks it will be a very good time.

Jinjer, which is another band that a member on here got me onto, would be amazing. Tatiana is freakin' incredible.

Best was Guns N Roses, 2017 at the garden. 3.5 hours of non stop great music, no opening band. If I could have seen them at the Apollo theater I would be complete.

I've seen Pink Floyd, Stones, Rush, Eagles, tons of bands, GNR in the 90s too. Nothing compared.

For the longest time my favorite concert was Metallica in 1988 in Toronto until the last couple of years when I have seen the Transiberian Orchestra in concert (Toronto in 2016 and last year in Buffalo) Until I saw TSO in concert I had no idea they were made up of members from the 80s metal band Savatage, and being at those concerts reminded me so much of all the 80s metal concerts I saw as a teenager. The cool thing is that they tour every single year right before Christmas, so I can see a repeat of that amazing show every single year now (and each show is slightly different, but still similar)

Scorpions "Love At First Sting" I remember it like it was yesterday (30+ years later). What an awesome show!

Iron Maiden "Piece Of Mind" Bruce Dickinson was a wild man, he was all over the stage, climbing and jumping off speaker stacks.

Superjam'78 was good. An all day affair that sticks out in my mind. Styx, Blue Oyster Cult, Eddie Money, Angel, and Bob Welch.
60,000 plus folks, in an event that probably would be denied today.

But favorite concert ever? Robert Cray in a small venue, a couple thousand folks. Table about 20 feet from the stage, drinks being brought by waitresses. That dude can play.

That would be pretty amazing! I saw The Who a couple years back, and they did a phenomenal job.

Judas Priest 1983, Austin, TX, Frank Erwin Center "Screaming for Vengeance" tour.
Seats 3 rows from the stage, my ears rang for 3 days. I have no memory who the warm-up band was

Second best was ZZ Top, "Afterburner" tour, same vear, same location. Again no memory of the warm-up band

I must be ancient. I've never heard of any of the groups...

Allow me to share:

Korn in Jacksonville was among the very best concerts I've seen. Everyone there really thought so too. It was a WOW concert.

I saw Yes in concert many years ago and they did the Yessongs album from cover to cover. It was quite special to me, as I love the Yessongs album. Maybe not technically the best concert, but amazingly meaningful.

I've been to so many concerts, I can't even begin to remember them all. Interestingly, Type O Negative was also really good.

Ghost in Jacksonville a couple of years ago was also really fun.

Have seen many concerts from quite a few of the groups listed on this topic.

But the best set that I attended was a 45 minute Chuck Berry set at the end of an oldies (mid to late 1950's) concert in the early 1980's when Chuck was in his mid-50's. He was electric, no comparison to anything else that I have seen live.

Elvis Presley in 1975...Parents took me when I was 12. Wasn't too thrilled then but looking back and I am very glad they did.

As an adult, Fleetwood Mac in northern California. Not my favorite band, but a great show with the energy of being in front of their hometown crowd.

15 years ago at the SARS concert in Toronto. Full day of headliners . Rolling Stones were great but were upstaged by AC/DC who went on stage before them.

The 1980's were a crazy time. I was strung out on sugar and going coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.
I just finished a never ending battle with my parents who insisted I needed to get shoes with "laces" as Velcro wasnt' suitable when I "grew up". One moment I was being fed from a breast, the next I was expected to feed myself AND chew my food.
Don't get me started on potty training.

I.was.a.mess.

This was reflected in my choice of music at the time. This bands video performances paled in comparison to their stage presence.
Couldnt' get enough of these guys. They made me realize life isn't so bad, and that I'd pull thru this eternal struggle.

Rush, Power Windows Tour. They played NYC/Long Island three times on that tour, caught all three shows. They were all impeccable.

Sounds like a concert I saw in Ft. Wayne, IN back in '78. Aerosmith was the headliner, but Brownsville Station opened for them and people were still chanting "Brownsville, Brownsville" 30 minutes after Aerosmith started playing...
