I'm sure the Beatles / Candlestick concert is likely more of a regional thing because there were MANY here who showed their ticket stubs and paraphernalia from the '66 concert when McCartney closed out Candlestick in 2014 before it was torn down. Candlestick was only about half full for the '66 concert so that adds to the rarity.
One of the best rock/blues concerts I've seen was Stevie Ray Vaughn at Campbell Hall in Santa Barbara in late '83. I saw him again a year or so later at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara and the opening act ( who got an encore ) blew them off the stage. I don't know if it was a combination of tired/drugs/apathy or whatever but I don't remember a show where there were so many noticeable clammed notes. Great concerts can be "of the moment" musically as much as anything else.
