My neighbor just asked me tonight what it is worth...It's a one owner with 47K original miles...It has some rust on the roof and the around the trunk...The A/C is broken [needs compressor] and the exhaust is getting a bit loud...Has no sludge as oil was changed every 6 months no matter how little miles were put on it...Inside is cloth and is overall clean...BTW Kelly Blue Book only goes down to 1990.

Thanks in advance.

I had one. Good little cars with
good fuel economy. Unless all the vacuum hoses tend
to get brittle and crack so they would need to be replaced.
Also the Carb gaskets go bad often.
So probably what ever you can get out of it.

Not more than a few hundred, as an ac system repair would be close to a thousand, and there is no good reason to do it due to the rust, which cannot be stopped.

Am I the only one that thinks that one with a manual transmission would be worth more than one with an automatic?

I'd pay $100 more for one with a manual.

Automatic - $400
Manual - $500

I have no choice but to assume some people were born without the sarcasm detecting gene.

Depends on what it costs to make it road worthy, including the cost of fixing the A/C. Potential value is zero if it costs more to make usable than its worth otherwise.

I made the mistake once of buying a $500 beater that I then had to throw way too much money into to get and keep on the road - good money after bad.

If you plan to scrap it and part it out, then it depends on the value of your time versus what you can get for it in parts.
