I'm the only musical person in the family. Drums for over 2 decades. I wish I had a pic of my old Neil Peart Slingerland replica kit. Ahh, those were the days.

guitar.... great fan of joe satriani, steve vai, edward van halen, jeff beck, jimi.... cousin plays piano, he's crazy... picked it up one day at age 13 and plays everything by ear, mozart, bach, chopin, beethoven... writes good stuff too....too bad he's a huffer and stoner....

I've sort of taught myself a few songs on the guitar, recorder, harmonica, bagpipes, and currently am at my peak on the dog xylophone that my 3 year old daughter owns.

She's currently teaching herself percussion instruments (and great for a 3 year old) can hold a beat to most nursery rhymes.

The girls can play our electric keyboard pretty well. Me? I suck, unless I can have a jazz beat and get in a groove and pound notes (sometimes the girls will poke there heads in the room and say "wow dad".)

As a kid, I took guitar lessons (no good), then I took drum lessons (OK, no drum set).

My youngest is going into violin this fall, but she now plays this small accordion.

Wife can sing and sometimes does in the church during Holy days. Me? I can sing "Far, far away" and "Really low"

My dream: Buy a bass guitar, amp and learn the thing, even take lessons.

Pablo, checl out music123.com and samedaymusic.com(always free shipping with them!), they have good deals, I got my e-guitar and effects very cheap...

Pablo. Alot of my friends say that Bass is a fun intrument but also very easy to learn. My friends been playing for a year and hes already in a band.

my 2.5 year old boy has & attempts to play the following:

keyboard
pint-size accordian
pint-size acoustic guitar
drums
harmonica (my fav)

Not sure where the music gene came from, but he's into it!

Drums since 1972. Played in warm up acts for Katrina and the Waves, Quite Riot, Cheap Trick, U2 and INXS. Had a couple of videos on MTV. That was many moons ago. Once I realized that if you didn't "make it" in that business by the time you were in your mid 20's, forget it. So in the interim, I went to college and managed to get a degree in Biology, which I now use in civil service. Still play as weekend warriors, but the bar scene gets old.
My 2 year old has taken an interest in "dah-rums" and loves to beat the **** out of my classic Ludwig 9 piece.
YO ToyotaSaturn....I had the Tama version of Neils setup in the mid 80's. Saw him two years ago in Dallas at a Rush concert. Amazing, he is NOT human.
