What happened to the hobbs meter?

They used to have these things on everything. Had one on my boat and 30 years later it still worked. Now, it's like they frequently use hour meters with internal batteries that die and go blank after about 10 years vs a mechanical stepper motor. Just FYI you can still buy them for about $50-$60 they jist aren't on a lot of things anymore from the factory.

Guess they got bought out by Honeywell. I have two Honeywell meters because I couldn't find a Hobbs brand. Always assumed they were the same
