What fluid should I use in my 03 Silverado Trans?

I'm coming up on a service and I believe the Dealer used Dex VI last time, and originally it would have had maybe Dex IV? I usually use Mobil 1, but I don't see that they make a Dex VI. Should I stick with the older Mobil 1 Dex IV or would the Dex VI in another brand like Super Tech or Valvoline be better? Thanks.

Probably won't matter since you maintain your vehicle on a regular basis.

XOM makes Dex VI ..all by itself.

Regular Mobil 1 ATF is your DexIIIH XOM product of choice.


You have a wide selection. Your trans can take Amsoil ATF/ATD/ATL (Dex VI low visc).

I'm more interested in longevity. Come to think of it I think the OEM factory fill was Dex III. I cant seem to find any of the XOM Dex VI. Where are people buying this?

I don't know ..or rather for all I know they make most labels .. Never had much cause to figure out if they made the original w/GM.

Any Dexron-VI is good enough.
Any full synthetic Dexron-III equivalent is another option.
