A C-clamp is fine unless you need to rotate the piston to get it back in.
When you have multiple pistons I often use an old brake pad to push both pistons back at the same time.

Yeah right. What a joke. If you and anyone read I specifically asked for tool for rear caliper. How the hell more easy can it get to give an answer????? A C clamp WILL NOT work. Why folks said this is just nuts. Christ I even told everyone what I work on in terms of years of vehicle wise. I now am absolutely positive folks here don’t listen or read what I write and or they just give what works for them.

That will NOT work. Piston pushes back counter clockwise
I got harbor freight version of this. I know it works.A lot of Euro stuff I do requires that the caliper piston be rotated while compressing it. I use this kit from ECS Tuning:

More recent cars with electronic e-brakes, I have to use a diagnostic tool such as Ross-Tech or OBD11 to retract the pistons. Otherwise I use a racheting spreader tool from Lisle, which is similar to what the murky pee odor altering vegetable suggested above.
sometimes when you think everyone else is the problem it is yourself.
For example there are many new cars you can still use a c-clamp or the ratcheting spreader tool on.. not all need twisted in. You dont list what car you were working on.

However, I missed S60 in your first post still seems missing. You also dont mention its a twist to retract caliper.

The cube and a C clamp can be used together. One of the rears on my wife’s Corolla simply would not screw in no matter him much I turned it, but when I used a clamp to jam the cube hard into the caliper and turned it with an extension the threads apparently caught and then it would turn the rest of the way. This was only a problem on one side for some unknown reason.
The cube or the style someone suggested I have already. I’ll elaborate that most stuff I work on has twist in caliper design. The one you linked with paddles I just never bought yet. 99% of stuff I work on has twist in calipers on tears.
I was pissed yes but now everyone knows 99% stuff I see daily uses rear electronic park brake and counter clockwise twist in style. As stated I did few new as in 1 year old Hyundai/Kia that don’t have counter clock twist style and no electronic e brake. So I’ve saw a lot.
