any non sythetic is recommended ... but the most bang for the buck are the diesel oils ...Delo 400 Delvac 1300 Rotella T and Penzzoil LongLife about $7.00 for a gallon ..and great oil to boot !

never knew of diesel motor oil.. i'll stick with dino.. thanks though im not planning to save i wanna get the good stuff

I've always changed my oil @ 3k with valvoline synthetic oil. I need to switch to DINO oil to use for Auto-RX rinse phase, do you guys have any recommendations that i should use for my infiniti g20, thats not hard to find... maybe availible in either walmart, strauss, or pepboys? thanks guys any recommendations will be appreciated

Many excellent oils designed for diesel engines are dino, e.g., Chevron Delo 400, Mobil Delvac 1300, Shell Rotella, to name a few. These that I have mentioned are 15w40s. They typically keep the diesel engines fairly clean, and all three companies tout their oils' abilities to offer performance for commercial truck engines such that the engines will last 1 million miles and more. They are excellent oils.

I think you misunderstood deepsquat's post. These oils are meant for diesel engines. They are not made with diesel.

All of this said, I doubt that they would be appropriate for your engine because they typically are 15w40 oils, although each of these companies do produce 10W-30s for diesel engines, too. The 10W-30s just aren't as accessible.

Honestly, for as long as it will be in there, any oil will work fine unless you have a special engine requirement. Just make sure the rinse oil contains no esters.

The filter selection is probably more important than the oil choice. Don't cut corners on filters if the crankcase is dirty.

i ordered a WIX filter, i heard they were pretty good... and i might go and see how much walmart supertech filter is cause everyone here has no problems with it... btw i plannned to use the WIX for after the rinse phase... im thinking i can make this 12oz bottle work with 2 applications... since my motor holds less than 4 quarts i think!?!? i can probably do 7 oz first then 5oz for the 2nd one..

thanks guys.. i guess i'll get the PPP filter for the rinse phase and save my wix filter after the clean phase

I would dose the oil correctly, especially on the first treatment. That means 2 oz per quart.

BTW, a NAPA Gold is a Wix, and is available locally. They're the same filter and a very good choice.

Purolater's Premium Plus filter might be a good choice for the wash and rinse phases. It filters well, but also has excellent flow. Both of these qualities are important for an A-RX wash and rinse. They're about $3.30 apiece and generally very available.

I'd use Advance Auto Parts oil for the whole thing. At less than $6 per gallon, it's cheap, and I wouldn't really worry about the SL rating. The oil is not gonna stay in there that long.

no its fine i'll stick to the good stuff no point in skimping money for this when i paid 25$ for a 12oz auto-rx bottle
