For example something like the AMSOIL Engine Flush (AEF)product- What do you guys htink about these fluids? DO you htink they work or do anyhitng for yoru engine?

There are many forum members that use Auto-Rx and are very satisfied with the results. I haven't used it but there are many posts and recommendations on it. It is not a flush that you use right before an oil change. There is a process that spans over 1500 miles from what I recall.

Ive always used synthetics since 9K in my truck and to this day she has been spotless. Next summer im going to give auto rx a try just to see if it makes any difference or not.

I will be using the Amsoil flush this weekend. We just bought a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with 78,802 miles that per the window sticker has had "BULK Pennzoil" and a Fram filter

installed at least at the last oil change. It is not at the scheduled next change, again per the sticker and the oil is very dark. So since I am a little leary of the past maintenance I will be using the flush to start clean and then install all Amsoil, oil and filters going with the series 2000 0w30 plan on yearly changes after that as we average 12 to 15,000 per year on mileage.
The engine runs great and appears to be OK mechanically no smoking or detectible leaks. I just hate bulk oil and Pennzoil in general!!! I have not used the Amsoil flush before but I have used other brands years ago and never seemed to have any detrimental effects. I do not use them on a regular bases either just when I have some doubt about the prior maintenance and or if I suspect a sludge problem. I also give them an unusually long drain period to make sure it is completely drained before filling up again.
Otherwise since oils clean up from the previously used oils, using a good oil in an engine that has a known clean history should be enough.

I think AEF is an excellent product to help drain and rinse old oil out. Followed by a short OCI, it is harmless and will set up a relatively clean engine for a longer oil change interval.

If you have a nasty dirty engine, AEF will help drain and rinse, but it will not clean real nasty sludge, hard stuff. For this you will need 2 or 3 AutoRx cycles. I have combo clean process for ugly engines:

As Pablo said, Amsoil engine flush can clean the somewhat liquid gooey sludge but not any hardened crud. You do not want anything to clean hardened crud quickly. Auto-Rx is the only thing out there for that and it will take some work. Without pulling a valve cover, you really do not know what you have (if anything).
