What are you working on today?

Replaced rad cap, now the system could actually hold pressure. Then a radiator side tank let go. Fixed that. Then the plastic t-stat housing let go.
the radiator in this thing is original. The OEM Motorcraft cap has been holding pressure but there’s a crack on the big seal.

I predict radiator failure soon. You heard it here first. Not wishing this on you.

I built a basic tube bumper for this '02 ;)

Adjusted the valves on the scooter. Of course ordered a set without a 0.12, only .10 or .13. The intakes the .13 was tight but ok, the exhausts even the .10 wouldn’t ft. Adjusted them out a bit. Changed the oil after, 5w40 Mobil Delvac.

New vehicle purchase, my local county retired a 2015 Grand Caravan. Drove it to the ranch from the county annex. 104k on the odometer, everything works. New Walmart AGM battery installed. I need to replace the passenger side headrest, spill/fill of the trans, brake fluid and thats about it. Will take a closer look at the oil cooler but I think its probably ok. It will be assigned to one of my kids in the near future.

Had one of these as a loaner. I loved it. Loved it. It had the lighting package and roll down windows in the back and got killer gas mileage, mid-upper twenties. If I needed a van and couldn’t have a newish sienna (which I think are superbly executed), this would be the one.

This is the third Pentastar Caravan my immediate family has owned, and my parents bought every generation since 1990. The first one (fully loaded RT) had a cylinder head failure around 70k. We eventually sold it off, Dodge did replace it under warranty. Our ranch property has a 2014 with only 48k on it, zero issues. I have 3 kids, so yet another van might be in the future as they will be off to college soon.

My current "big" project is redoing the interior of the NSX. Just about everything I've pulled out has had broken tabs, clips, etc. I will be working on either repairing or replacing all of it. Some of it will be pretty simple, some of it I can get new, and some of it will probably require 3D scanning and printing, which will be a new skill for me (or I'll pay someone).

Yesteday, I started work on recovering the seats. Definitly not finished, but the leather is in position and I'm hoping that a few days in the hot shop will stretch it a bit!

2005 Tundra:
-installed a Ram phone mount on the ash tray. They make -- or at least used to make -- a right angle bracket that clips on the front of the ashtray and creates a flat, vertical face with slots for the ball base.

The fiberglass-esque material was NOT taking wood or plasti screws, so I finally tapped it 8-32 and this worked extremely well. @Tomioka

Going to start changing the water pump and raidator on the grand marquis today.

I noticed it's been running warmer than normal and the fans were running a lot more than I ever remember. Threw a new thermostat and flushed the radiator the other day. So. Much. Sediment.

We had a heat wave monday and tuesday. Tuesday I tested how good the head gaskets are. It went into failsafe cooling a few times. I could keep it at 235F if I ran the heat full blast but that was not ideal. Even going down the highway at 65 it was running 230-235
