Neighbor crashed his clown car, I was invoked to get it back on the road in a hurry
It damaged the core support, drivers side headlight, smashed the cooling fan into the cat, wiring damage, etc
Warning: this is a temporary measure

Got medieval on it with a giant prybar, enough to get the radiator back where it belonged, and opened enough space to extract the broken fan
After swapping in the new fan, it still didn't work
The low speed resistor was cracked in the accident, had to order one for an Aveo
The high speed J case fuse blew, and he had swapped the relays when "checking the fuses"
After much bi directional controlling and power probing, I had a cooling fan again
A pair of light bulbs, some more prybar time, fiddling with the hood latch, and a few zip ties
It's "together", in the sense that nothing's loose, and nothing's gonna fall off
This should get him by until a core support and headlight come in
And an OCI, which is quite easy on this little 1.4

Replaced a sad-looking yet only 2 year old Dayco radiator hose on our WJ. I noticed it during my semi-weekly oil level checks and was shocked at how bulged the hose was, especially since I was 99% sure I'd replaced it when I did the radiator. Looked back at my RA purchase history and sure enough, there it was. It wasn't even a closeout item, just regular stock.
I drained out enough coolant to prevent any spillage and slapped an AC Delco hose in as a replacement. I actually like the fitment of the Delco better, the curve clears the power steering hard line at a much better angle.

Oil change, tire rotation, cabin air filter, spark plugs and drain/refill MTF.
Ford calls for plugs every 100k with no time limit. Given the age, the owner agreed with me that it’d be a good idea to replace. I was surprised AutoZone had them in-stock at a lower price than Rockauto.

Replaced all body mounts on '14 F350 CCLB. I used SPE as they seem well-regarded.
I was able to do it 100% on the lift, which was great to stay on my feet. Both of my trans jacks are 1/2t and would bypass at the center mounts. If this looks sketchy, that's because it is

Waiting on O’Reilly to get me a brake hose for the cab. Yes, I could have gotten an OEM Toyota part quicker. The van got a new warranty sway bar link last night.
Did the unthinkable and let someone else work on one of my vehicles today... had a shop do a 4-wheel alignment on project Volvo. I've had excellent results from these guys in the past, and today was no different.
I'd installed front quick struts and a rear lateral arm, so it was a full on 4 corner adjustment. The before numbers were surprisingly good considering I just eyeballed things, they had to tweak the rear toe and made a few adjustments to the front but otherwise everything looked great. I was hoping for confirmation that there were no other tweaked suspension parts, so now that that's cleared I can get a set of tires on it and list it for sale.

Fixed our bluray player, had lint wrapped on the spindle. A bit worried it died I’m only in the D’s. Bunch of planting and watering besides that.
I finished up the dump truck repairs in the dark on Friday night and have been working it hard this week. Everything went well. New front springs, pins, U bolts, kingpins, shoes and drums, wheel seals and hub caps.
Generally speaking it should have an alignment after all this but I’ve had some very poor experiences with our local truck alignment shops. A lot of times they drive worse after than they did before. In this instance, I didn’t replace any “adjustable” parts except the king pins which only adjust up and down to set the amount of play in them. I will monitor the tire wear and if there’s an issue I will have it checked. The steering wheel is slightly off center now but the truck seems to be driving fine, I’ve put around 600 miles on it in two days. If there’s no tire wear issues present then I’m going to pull the steering wheel off and re-center it and call it good. As a trained technician I know this isn’t the right answer but in an extremely rural area you have to make do with what you have or don’t have.

Sitting on the side of the road once again. This time with my 2017 Mack. Relay valve started dumping air while headed to pick up a load of seed a couple hours from home. Got someone bringing the parts and hopefully be back on the road in a couple hours.
Been working on my '05 Element for the last week and a half. I hoped for a simple brake, rotors, and hoses swap but living in the overly salted, pothole-ridden roads of PA, of course, nothing was a simple unbolt rebolt job.
The passenger front caliper bracket had 1 slide pin seized, so I ran to Autozone to get one to keep moving. Then when I pulled the driver's rear caliper the piston was seized. So it was spend $100 locally or on Zon for a single rear caliper or wait 3 days for 2 new SKP driver side calipers for $100 combined from RA. They arrived today and I got the rear done and will finish the driver's front tomorrow. The front caliper was just as rusted as the rear, so I figured might as well swap them. They probably are OEM as the previous owner swapped the passenger side.
While doing that I found 3 small rust spots in the 2 rear wheel wells. Cleaned the rust out, treated with Permatex rust stuff, and painted with black Rust treatment Chassis paint (Harbor Freight brand) last week. Then today I patched with Duraglas. Nothing was structural so I am fine with Duraglas. I'll paint the areas and top it off with a fresh coat of Woolwax when I get back from vacation next week.
Pads- Wagner Quickstop ZD914 fronts and Quickstop ZD536 rears both ceramic.
Rotors- The 4 rotors were ordered as 2- AUTO EXTRA AX31316P and 2- DURAGO BR3125701 both were Wholesale Closeouts and all 4 were ProStop semi-coated rotors, seem fine esp for $$.
3 Sunsong hoses, the other one was done already ~1yr or so ago.

2006 Tundra with EVAP leak. Owner reports he replaced filler cap with OEM. Sure looked to me like cap is leaking.
I got to looking and cap doesn't really engage filler neck. Looks like he ordered wrong cap. This one has threads -- if only ~2 threads -- while his style should be something with weird rectangles:

After getting in past midnight Wednesday night working on the semi on the side of the road I had another late night yesterday. My Bassett/Lab mix had started limping slightly on Wednesday and that progressed to not being able to get up or walk at all yesterday. Loaded him up last night and hauled him an hour to the emergency vet clinic. He has some narrowing of the discs in his spine towards the hips and they think he has a pinched nerve causing pain. 3 rounds of medication for two weeks and hopefully he will recover. It’s going to be a waiting game although he did get up and move a little this morning. Thankfully he was extremely easy to handle and really doesn’t show any signs of being in pain. Not much seems to bother him. Got home around 1am.
