What are you working on today?

Started the old 83 CV80 scooter. Setting since October and it fired right up. I parked it since I was at my wits end trying to figure out the carb. Idles perfect but as soon as you gave it gas would fall on it's face, ran it with the choke on and seems better now.

Cleaned up some leaves around junk around where the old scooter was setting. A few things my wife told me to keep then asked me why I kept them.

Few more parts pulled/cut off the Farmstiva. Expertly rolled the edges with a pliers and a big hammer. Few more parts off and couple more on it'll be ready to take down next weekend. Needs a battery and belt.

The 1.3 Ltr. ( MAZDA 121 ) is one tough 🍪 . Had 3 different FESTIVAs' . One was the 3 speed auto and 2 were with the 5 speed manual . Checked oil level of a '88 Festiva for an acquaintance and oil was below the LOW mark . Looked at the miles on it and was little over 30,000 miles . The oil was the factory fill and the oil / filter were changed shortly after . The car went on well over 130,000 miles and was likely abused more .

Installed a Bluetooth retrofit module in the '99 911. Plugs into the rear of the Becker OEM radio and I bought a male plug that connects into an unused plug in the car supplying switched power and ground for a simple and reversible plug-n-play install. I finally gave in, just cannot do commercial radio on long drives anymore.

Sound quality is, well...there. But, I now have my 70's rock whenever I want. May do it to the other cars.

Ours always got oil changes every 3k. But I did roll the 90 auto.. jacked the roof up and tarred in a new windshield. Drove it another couple months till someone backed in front me totaling it again.

Tire rotation on the GX. The first real job for my Milwaukee high torque, it ripped the lugs off like they werent even held on.

The rear bump stops have seen some towing action. Oops.

changed out these worn out font half shafts with some FVP HD ones from Rockauto. they claim to have a TPE boot so we shall see. these have a large tolerance for angle and the extension is handled in the larger diameter section rather than in the CV cup.

also did my annual transfer case oil change. 3 quarts of Valvoline 0w-20 out, 3 quarts of HPL PCEO 5w-30 in.

changed my fuel filter. out: Ac Delco, in :carquest premium.

greased front end and front drive shaft U-joints.

changed the oil filter.

2012 Nissan Rogue 2.5
Replaced passenger side CV axle assembly, front brake rotors and pads, rotated tires, changed oil.

Today I did some laundry and laid around because I wasn't feeling all that great.

Man, did I do a lot of Rogue axles. It's always the passenger side, too. I firmly believe it's due to the high joint angle on that side.

2012 Ram Tradesman, driver's headlight out. R/Ring both sides as a precaution.
Murphy's Law will get you every time. Plus, the Sylvanias I'm using are an upgrade
and I'll have equality in the output for night driving.

The garage door came crashing down after a freak accident. The car was halfway in when it happened, so the obstruction sensors aimed under the car instead of stopping the door. One of the torsion springs snapped, and the whole thing was about to smash the rear windshield when I jumped out, grabbed it mid-fall, and yelled for someone to back the car out.

Problem was, they couldn’t figure out how to start the **** thing. So I grabbed a 2x6 and jammed it in to hold the door up. That constant pressure ended up making things worse—cables jumped the rollers, the bottom panel got crushed, and the whole door blew off the tracks like a metal accordion. Nobody got hurt and the car didn’t get smashed, but the door is a goner. Other than that, it was a pretty slow day. 🤷‍♂️

I dislike garage door carnage. Bad things can happen when they get off.

Out of town and bunch of stuff today. Stopped by HF, new place then dads. Measured the driveway to get prices… 700ft is going to cost! Put new lights from HF on dads 16ft trailer. Need to revisit it few other tools, the drivers side isn’t as bright and not sure why.

Bought a new battery and belt for the Farmstiva. Also a battery for the Troybuilt picked up from dads. Stiva didn’t want to start and my oldest reminded me I cut the back half which in turn reminded me about the inertia switch. Yup tripped, fired right up. The old Troybuilt fired right up also after setting couple years. It was gpa’s old mower and he’s been gone for 5-6 years, hasn’t been used much. Few repairs and it’ll be good to go.
