What are you working on today?

Truck got cleaned up and I needed to remove the spare tire to get to the back half of the frame, so I cleaned the spare tire. Yes, I have no life, don't remind me... :ROFLMAO:

Tire dressing?

Man, did I do a lot of Rogue axles. It's always the passenger side, too. I firmly believe it's due to the high joint angle on that side.
Last one I did did NOT want to release at the "carrier bearing." I have the right angle fork thing for a slide hammer but that was marginal. I think it was clinebarger who said weld a nut to it for the slide hammer threads, which I'd like to try next time.

Bunch of small stuff today. Rode the old scooter up to Blip in the West Bottoms. Fine on the way there but acted up on the way back. Had to pull the choke 1/4 to 1/2 and ran fine. Cleaned the tank but guessing debris causing it.

Got one of the augers on sale from HF. Figured I get it running before needed it. Couldn’t get it to fire up. Guessing they didn’t get the spark plug fully in the boot and seated on the plug. Of course it was flooded after that so had my wife hold the throttle and it finally came to life.

Worked on the TroyBuilt. The oldest power washed it. Changed the oil.. what a mess. Should of used the vacuum pump on it. Then escalation happened… one of the pulley’s came apart and dad already had a new one. But the other pulley sounds awful, belt isn’t that great and one pulley had the gpa fix treatment. Probably should if replaced the spindles too but have no play, no zerks on these originals.

Installed my battery back in my boat and pulled it out to start getting it around. I had a stripped bolt on my mower deck and wrestled with that for an hour and finally got it. Sharpened the blades, changed the oil, mowed and then looked at the belts. The deck belt is hanging on by a thread. This hustler has eaten more deck belts than any other mower I’ve ever had. Ordered a new one and put down my spring weed and feed. I’ll be griping about how fast the grass grows in about 2 weeks.

I finally replaced the front brakes on my '15 Accord today due to horrendous brake judder.

I had installed PowerStop coated rotors and Raybestos Element3 pads front and rear less than two years and 15k miles ago. I bedded them in correctly and they had great stopping power and feel, but they slowly started feeling kinda 'lumpy' when braking and it got progressively worse to the point that I really hated driving the car.

The old rotors are perfectly smooth to the touch and the pads had way more than half of their life left so it was a bit of a shame to replace the brakes already, but I couldn't stand the judder anymore. I replaced them with another pair of PowerStop coated rotors but used PowerStop Z17 ceramic pads since I get them all together in a kit from Amazon. Everything came off and went back on fine and the judder is thankfully gone.

I have PowerStops on everything. I really like their products.

Cool one today: 2002 Silverado 4x4 with the Duramax and manual transmission. Love it! 85k miles but she's a farm truck so she's a little rough.

I'm supposed to change oil, rotate tires, check on a sticky parking brake, diag wipers that only work on high and replace scrunched tailgate hinge.

Nice! I'd plonk my camper on that in a New York second. Maybe take a pack of wet wipes to the interior.

It was a Dorman day, which is rarely -- if ever -- a good thing.

The tailgate hinges on this GMT800 were mashed from driving into it while lowered. The gate would bind mid-travel:

And of course the handle bezel was missing

So, Dorman to the rescue -- I guess? It feels wrong to say that....

Yeah, the hinge is still a little off because the body is slightly tweaked but it functions perfectly

And this looks better until it gets broken again

Tomorrow is -- disturbingly -- more Dorman with a wiper motor pulse board and trailer plug.

I really do dislike Dorman but what are ya gonna do? It's ubiquitous and all you can get on short notice. Plus a 23-year-old truck arguably doesn't need OEM stuff

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 8.1 Vortec
Replaced headlight and parking lamp assemblies, replaced the electrical portion of the ignition switch, replaced wiper blades, changed oil

1969 Chevrolet C10 350 small block V8
Started replacing water pump, radiator hoses, heater hoses, thermostat, belts and oil change. I'll finish it tomorrow
