Currently trying to motivate myself to go out and rake out the front lawn. Part of me is hoping it rains so I can 'possibly' continue working in the basement. It's cloudy, and the planets aren't in proper alignment making it tough today to work on the lawn.

Yeah, it’s rainy here and to be til’ like 7pm tonight . I’ll probably burn my leaves and some dead brush and twigs tonight.

It's not raining, the planets aligned partially and I did the left half of the front lawn, in record time! Major accomplishment I say. Now working in the basement to break up the monotony of yard work. There's always next week for the rest of the yard. The joys of being retired. ;)

Old Ford 300 used for an irrigation pump. They wanted an oil change and spark plugs. These plugs are 13/16" hex which you don't see too often anymore. Fortunately I keep a magnetic plug socket in that size.

I also replaced the distributor rotor but the cap looked good, and installed a new V-belt

Began removing the exhaust parts on dad’s Freightliner. Replacing muffler and the pipe at the top. The pipe on the top won’t be in till Monday though. Going to go ahead and get the muffler on tomorrow so less I have to do Monday after work. Good thing I used anti seize last time and it made all the bolts super easy to remove. I’ll be applying a fresh coat this time. Since the bolts are stainless I use nickel anti seize since the copper isn’t recommended for stainless and the silver stuff also has copper in the mixture it says. Luckily I keep all three on hand anyway so I have them all available. I normally don’t do anything on Sunday but I am making the exception since dad bought me Chipotle tonight for dinner like I asked for. Those drive tires have a closed shoulder for a tiny bit better fuel economy. They don't do as well on the snow however.

Started the old 83 CV80 scooter. Setting since October and it fired right up. I parked it since I was at my wits end trying to figure out the carb. Idles perfect but as soon as you gave it gas would fall on it's face, ran it with the choke on and seems better now.

Cleaned up some leaves around junk around where the old scooter was setting. A few things my wife told me to keep then asked me why I kept them.

Few more parts pulled/cut off the Farmstiva. Expertly rolled the edges with a pliers and a big hammer. Few more parts off and couple more on it'll be ready to take down next weekend. Needs a battery and belt.

Modified my shopbrew Trailrax copy to take three jugs, and the green one is the new 5 gal offering. Too much weight? Honestly, I doubt it. My rack is stronger than commercially available sheetmetal thru Trailrax and bolts through the hardtop at the bottom.

The check engine light saga with my Copart Cadillac has finally come to a close. For backstory: the car is a 70k mile '95 Cadillac Seville that I picked up from Copart for a song. Ran fantastic, but had a lingering P083 24x reference signal code that refused to clear. After swapping in new crankshaft sensors and a used ignition module without success, I finally followed the diagnostic chart in the FSM and came to the conclusion that I had good signal from the ICM to the ECM, so the issue had to be within the logic of the ECM.

I sourced a Cardone remanufactured ECM on eBay for a whopping $28 and just finished up the installation. After performing an idle relearn, I'm happy to report that the P083 is no more! We have to run to town this afternoon, so I'll get a good chance to compare before and after. I don't expect much difference, the only time it acted up was on coast down when it would "cough" ever so briefly as it came back down to idle.

There's something to be said about the simplicity of pre-OBD 2 GM cars. Swapping a PROM is a lot easier than having to reprogram a new ECM, at least for a home mechanic.

For random Amazon Chinese pockets. I'm not all about bolt-on junk (the Jeep aftermarket is insanely huge) but for little stuff like this I'll gamble. Many of the big players (like DV8) are the same junk with a premium tacked on for the brand
