Making some progress with the cheap project Civic
I managed to cure a parasitic drain issue that stymied the previous owner for years
The driver's door lock would never work power, after two false starts with incorrect latches, I finally got the right one in
It would constantly try to keep unlocking, with a constant +12v feed
After inspecting wires and grounds, unplugging the other switches, I called it a bad MICU (Honda speak for BCM)
It's integrated with the interior fuse box, it's $800+, and you allegedly need HDS software to program it
A $65 used one, new actuator, and my Launch X431 Pro Elite made light work of the job
You need this function
After the swap, the driver's door lock and new actuator worked perfectly, the alarm armed/disarmed, the keyless entry worked, but it would start and stall, with a flashing green key light
The PCM, Imm unit, and MICU all need to agree with each other, you will need a scan tool with this exact function
Gonna be the nicest $1500 Civic the city has ever seen
People like cars they can enter and exit right
