What are you working on today?

Later on today, changing the water pump, rad hoses, drain the coolant and replace, serpentine belt, and its tensioner, on my girlfriends, mother's F150. Leaking water pump, so I offered to work on it, if she got me the parts.
As it 217,000 kms, I recommended the rad hoses, belt, and tensioner be changed.

Is that only 130k miles? What model year?

2013, with the 5.0 V8, same as my 2014 has.
Not very motivated to work on it today, was out dancing last night until 1am.

Today I painted my living room. Went with a private label all in one paint/primer made by Sherwin Williams that I got at the local paint and hardware store. Dover white, which is a very slightly off white. All I did was wipe the walls down with a dust rag, tape up the door and window trim, light and plug outlet covers, and throw some old sheets down. I don't hang anything on my walls so all I had to do was move a few pieces of furniture. Small room, turned out good. Might do the bed room tomorrow, might never do it at all.

2001 RAV4: oil change

2013 Express 1500 AWD: mild lift w replacement torsion keys and replacement leaf packs. New Bilstein shocks and front receiver hitch.

It still rides like a wallowing pig but it's not mine. Stock they sit really low, now it just sits kinda low:

Yesterday, my thoughts got the best of me... so I took the 5.3 block up to the machine shop to have it decked and check out the mains and cam bores. Also put in a new set of cam bearings. Mainly though for the deck -- I'd hate to lift a head or something stupid.

Accidentally ordered a 58x BTR forged crank, rods and Weisco pistons. Man I gotta stop hitting the Cream Ale's and ordering.

And this was supposed to just be a junkyard build that has seriously went off the rails... oh well. Should be a sweet G-Body. I have another 5.3 block lying around. Guess I could take these spare parts I got (stock crank, Gen IV rods, etc.) and put together something 400hp for Dad for his eventual Square Body or 70s C10 he wants.

I guess project Dark Iron is starting to get a little spicy. Now I gotta size turbo(s)?

Test drive revealed a nasty groan upon TCC apply, ATF is black as coal.

Decided on a Ford reman, Had to get it shipped in from Houston. Box truck showed up with a nasty CORE inside the crate:).

Forum members 2018 Silverado 5.3L/6L80E......Tuned out the AFM & did a custom TCC apply ramp pressure & timing tune.
Deleted the trans thermostat valve function.

Front pads and rotors on a 2016 XC60 2.5T; serviced the hubs and slider pins of course. I chose to have my co-worker supply OE parts because I was not so sure about going aftermarket on this one. I was very impressed with the quality of both the OE pads and rotors, glad I went this route.

I opened the blower motor compartment of my '95 BMW 5 series wagon to fish out a dead mouse that was stinking up the joint. Found it nestled against the motor assembly.

I did the same project on another E34 chassis bimmer I once owned. The mice apparently get trapped at the motor when they try to get into the heater plenum. Then the front of the cowl has to come apart.

Neighbor brought over his hunting truck today for a little work.

1986 Toyota 4runner 2.4 22R 4 cylinder
Replaced spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor button, fuel filter and air filter. Changed oil. Got some extra cash and a fresh hot pan of homemade cornbread out of it.
