What are you working on today?

Got back from a 700 mile round trip from Central TX to Dallas and back. I needed a longer trailer, 18 foot pipe top. It gets horrible mileage because of the parachute ramp, but I dont care. Picked up 2 culverts, 2 IBC cages. Dropped off 1 culvert at the mother in laws. Austin prices are expensive for these things, but Dallas area is reasonable.

PJ at least makes 'em with removable side rails. I can't stand traditional "utility" trailers because the sides are so limiting if you want to use it as a car hauler. With the PJ you get the best of both worlds.

Or just buy a car hauler and build sides that utilize the stake pockets. I always double the number of stake pockets anyway because you can never have too many tie-down options.

Agree. Cant have enough stake pockets, welding is on the learning list. I bought stake pocket d-rings and they worked great. It will be used for tractor and material hauling. My car hauling activities are mostly over. I have a demco car hauler (uhaul) at auction right now and ending in a few days. I'll just rent in the future if needed.

Took the day off to take the Sanitation physical test 🗑️
Despite being woefully out of shape and asthmatic, the cardio I put in at my current job carried me through 💪

I doubt I'll hear anything from it for a year or two at minimum, but having Plan B for a career/source of income seems prudent 🤔
I've wasted ~$100 on far less promising ventures 👀

As for the cars, sister got a very thorough car wash and a full tank of gas ⛽
With how she's been acting out and disrespecting her car lately, that's gonna count as some of her Christmas present 😤

2010 Ford Edge 3.5 V6
Replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, upper plenum gaskets, air filter, and rotated tires and changed oil
You know you were hoping for brake booster ;)

Anyway, unrelated:
2000 Ram 1500:
Oil change, replaced p/s pump and RF u-joint at wheel. I used a Duralast 297 because neither the truck or owner is worthy of a Spicer 760 ;)

Mowers, mowers, and more mowers. Fall service specials and mow-to-snow swaps. 9 hour days FLY by! On a good day I can do 4-5 services in a shift, but I've been upselling repairs on 3 out of 5 machines I touch.
I have an older one I need to resurrect. Apparently the fuel pumps would get weak and they were hard to start. My dad was starting it by lightly pressurizimg the gas tank with an air nozzle and rag crammed in the filler. What a PITA

Bought my girlfriend new winter tires yesterday, then took her Ram 1500 to the shop at work, and swapped them onto her rims for her.
She was at work, so I drove down in my F150 to get her Ram. A woman who she works with commented that "I should date her, because no guy she has ever dated would've done something like that for her".
My girlfriend told me that "I'm the bestest, and she loves me ", before I left with her truck.
Must say, it made me feel good.

Tried as I might, the Kubota BX2350 would not start. I had to compare other videos of other folks starting their engines, and mine wont crank fast enough. I replaced battery cables, two different batteries, with no success. She chooched lots of smoke and soot. Compression test revealed 300 psi instead of 500 psi per the WSM. I pulled the head at lunch, and felt some nasty gouges in the #1 cylinder wall I didnt feel before. I have learned a bunch about diesel engines. I have almost all parts except headlights for a full restoration. Now to save up $$$$ and find another D902.

Done a couple, not a fan of that particular job. Really not a fan of working on these things period, but upper plenum removal isn't that bad and from there the tune up is an easy job.

2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 4wd
Replaced front axle actuator, serviced front and rear differentials

2011 Honda Accord 3.5 V6
Replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, air filter, rotated tires and changed oil

Taking the rest of the week off to do things around the house.

Had some time after work today so I performed a brake fluid exchange on the MIL’s car:

Reservoir contents evacuated, refilled with new fluid and pressure bleeder connected (at 20 psi):

2017 3.5 ecoboost phaser and timing set job. RH bank exhaust cam phaser was stuck solid. Couldn’t even get the cam lock tool it was so far out. Got the latest phasers. Also changed the water pump, thermostat, belts, spark plugs, updated valve covers and all necessary seals/gaskets.
