Looking forward to hearing the rest of the wrecker company saga. Good looking engine. I like the blue.
Did those still have a fuse in the clutch wire in the engine compartment?Began diagnosing the ac issue on my Trailblazer. My wife says it's not blowing cold so I had a look. All fuses are good, swapped in known good relays, no dice. Fan clutch is working but it's not locking up and roaring like it normally would. Took it for a rip and no change in air temp. I find the ac clutch is not engaging.
I jump the low pressure sensor switch with no change. So.... I need to verify power at the relay and then inspect the compressor. I will check the wiring and then see if the clutch is magnetizing.
Better get used to oil changes, tires, rotations. Your company doesn’t care as they are making money. I wouldn’t whine and cry about it either. Me and the other two techs do over 90 R.O.’s a day.We were absolutely swamped at work today. Mostly oil, state, rotates and all of the upsells from those things which suck but it’s work. I was worn out by lunchtime. For 15 techs we done 41 cars before lunch and almost 30 after. The flat rate guys weren’t too happy but they got over it. I made a huge mess all over the floor in my bay because of a stupid oil filter location on a 2003 Tacoma. And if was monkey tight too which made things worse. I spent 30 minutes cleaning that up. That made my day bad I was already busting my tail trying to keep up with the 4 cars I was waiting on approval for. So nothing exciting today. Didn’t hardly upsell anything either. They have raised our prices so much that no one is buying stuff. I tried to sell everything I could to get my bonus. It’s ok you have good and bad days. The Tacoma sucked though lol. I love working on old stuff but some things are just stupid. I definitely need a beer and bed now lol. At least I didn’t have to stay late today. We finished up about 4:45. Normally we are done by 3 and standing around waiting for more work lol. I don’t have a problem being busy but it does turn into a cluster all the time. We have no where to pull cars waiting on approval and a few other things but we get thru. We have a policy that we can’t pull cars out of the shop if they are waiting on approval unless it’s a big repair or drop off. That’s per our department trainer. I got my butt chewed last week for pulling a car that was a waiter outside to wait. Never again will I do that after the tail chewing that I got that day.
It’s the busiest we’ve been in a long time. I think if things didn’t get so clustered up it would be better. It gets to the point where you are waiting to pull into your bay because there are cars everywhere waiting on approval and just complete madness can barely fit through the shop. I just don’t like how hectic it is. I’m ok with being busy just those are the reasons I don’t. I’m ready for Memorial Day so they will let us use the AC.Better get used to oil changes, tires, rotations. Your company doesn’t care as they are making money. I wouldn’t whine and cry about it either. Me and the other two techs do over 90 R.O.’s a day.
Be glad you are busy as some places right now are not. Not being rude; just telling you how things are.
