What are you working on today?

Changed the oil and filter on a 2005 S500. 8 liters of oil, Fram ultra filter (normally use Mann filters but could not find any), and replaced the used oil with Pentosin 5w40.

A good oil extractor is such a wonderful tool. And with MB having the filter at the top of the engine.... hands never got dirty and I never had to get on the ground. And I can measure exactly how much oil was removed in under one second.....

Happy....
I got on my hands any knees and scrubbed my kitchen floor and 3 bathrooms.
You can't beat doing it this way for a great job plus you surprise yourself you can still do it and not hurt..lol

Trust you won't take offense, but I hate you. Seriously. Hate. You.

Cleaned - on my hands and knees - a small half bath, to include the lower half of the walls, the toilet, sink, and all of the floor. HURT FOR 2 DAYS.

Did I mention I hate you. Cause I do. Hate you.

My 2004 Sienna is like that with food crumbs all over, I just vacuumed it for now thinking I would get the rest later by blowing it out with compressed air, later is not here yet and I am parking it out of the rust belt for winter so the mice may get a treat if they can get in it. Rest of the story is probably pretty common, parent drives new van for many years than gives it to their kid, who neglects it as free stuff is usually never fully appreciated, dealer takes it in on trade, cheapskate shade tree mechanic tries to buy as cheap as possible being the drip at the rear of the motor is known to all who look there.

Finding the gas additive Star Tron Enzyme for the lawnmower/snowblower gas can is about all I was working on today, neighbor cleaned the end of the driveway so I had just enough gas to do the rest, but I am not going anywhere being the roads will be wet and sloppy-est today and after cleaning the snow I am sure to reward myself with effortless task for the most part.

Your post reminded me of a good YouTube dent repair video of the tear down on a Buick SUV, worth watching for those of us who might get into this kind of cleaning or maintenance repair.

Like this guy's videos. :)

Yesterday I did some shooting. Today I replaced front brake pads and rotors on a 2012 Buick Enclave, rotated the tires and changed the oil

Don't worry about me. I know how you feel. Hope you healed up well.

I didn't do much today until this evening. Cleaned my pistol and relubed everything with Red Line assembly lube. Grease on everything except a couple of drops of liquid formula in the trigger assembly. Looking forward to seeing how it does.

Trying to fix the air leaks on my company flatbed truck today. Still leaks even after replacing a few fittings from the air tanks. Sounds like a large air leak coming from up in the frame so back at with it with the soapy water for round two.

Day two on chasing air leaks on my company flatbed. Finally chased it down to a QD fitting leaking on the primary air tank supply air line. Changed it out to a brass compression fitting, performed air leak test and passed with flying colors.

Keeping my drivers operational. We are deep into a cold spell so I got battery tenders on my 3500 and trailblazer. Plugged in the block heater as well on the trailblazer as we have to rip to town today. Its only -28c now but thats enough to put some hurt on the vehicles.

I also had aired up all the tires in anticipation of the cold. I can never keep pressure in anything with these wide swings. One week its melting and the next its a extreme cold warning. So where do I sign up for this global warming?

Replaced the rear strut rods on my Camry

That bushing was tired

No, I'm not dedicated enough to change the bushings in the spindle

The adjustable toe arms tomorrow, because I used up today's sunlight just getting the bolts loosened

Then I need an alignment (after donning snow tires) and a NYS inspection (it should pass 👀)

Yesterday I replaced front brake pads and rotors on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. Today I replaced the fuel pump on a 1979 Chevrolet C60. Both days I've been working on an oil pump replacement on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.3. Got the front axle dropped down and the oil pan removed yesterday, spent this afternoon getting the front of the engine tore down.

Rear brake pads on the GS. 8k mi ago I did Brembo rotors & pads, but the pads are toast. They were discontinued from Rock Auto & cheap. Also very dusty. Swapped in some Akebono ceramic from Napa.
Replaced the PCV valve & grommet on the same car. The grommet had dried up & broken with part of it falling under the valve cover. I assumed it fell on the valve train so I pulled the valve cover. The broken piece was in a sealed baffle, but I was able to get it out. Cams look good, especially for 356k mi. A little bit of grime on the valve cover that flaked off with my fingernail.

Got the Silverado buttoned up and running again. Oil pressure is improved and no more leaky oil pan gasket.

Today I helped a colleague remove the front wheels off his 1991 GMC Topkick 6500, so he can get new tires put on. While the truck is immobile, I went ahead and changed the oil.
