Did the rear brakes on my 1993 Tercel. It’s at 362,000km and I last did the rears 180,000km ago. They still had shoe material but it came off the shoe on one side so was bumping around in there and grinding like crazy.

New drums, Wagner Thermoquiet shoes, hardware kit, and new bearings as well. I also had replacement hoses but ran out of time. Maybe next spring.

Changed spark plugs on my 04 Tacoma 2.7 4 cyl. and the #2 ignition coil as it went bad.116k miles on the originals they were gone. Replaced with Denso Iridiums. Changed plugs in my 08 Chevy cobalt. I got the car with 22k on it ans has 161k on it now and I never replaced them so I figured it’s time. It got ACdelco iridiums in it.

Going to work some more on the beetle today and tomorrow. Trying my best to get it fully running and road ready. Been wanting to for a long time. Going to order tires for it soon too. Once I get the new ignition fully installed I’m sure it will fire up. Been charging the battery periodically as well hopefully I don’t have to buy a new one.

Same haha. Haven’t got to drive mine except I pulled it into the bay at school once before I bought it. I sure do love the thing. Growing up it was my dream car then I got one to make the dream come true. Everyone used to think it was funny but more and more people find them cool now.

The BUG was my 1st car and learned to drive stick with it . Had a lot of fun . Was in high school at that time . Think it was '77 or '78 . Had an 8 track player and pair of speakers placed in small wood boxes made in school shop .

Redid my spark plugs and replaced the other 3 ignition coils. I didn't want to pay $27 a spark plug from the dealer but I had no choice. I won't buy Champion plugs again.

Change coolant in the fusion; replace carb on Toro mower; change oil in mower, grease gear drive, wash and winterize; one of those days when every job goes the way you hoped it would with no setbacks

Making a new fusebox connector for the blower motor circuit for a 2013 Freightliner flatbed. Crimped terminal to short piece of 12ga wire that splices into existing wiring, then transfer terminals and weatherpack terminal plugs from old connector to new connector on Monday.

Making and installing custom urethane rear differential mounts on my AWD Clubman.

Used Smooth-On PMC-770. Not pretty, but they’ll be tough.

LR wheel bearing on my daily Camry, got tired of the highway noise

It put up a fight I'm not gonna lie, I used all the MAPP torch and the 6lb sledge had in it

Could use parking brake shoes, but it holds safe enough

It had new rear pads/rotors two years ago, and I'm thinking next spring it's gonna need them again due to rust

Not how I pictured spending my 25th birthday , but a day off work is a day off

Backing plates not entirely healthy, but it's still in one piece, serviceable, and I'm not in the mood to spend $220 for new ones

2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor 3.8L V6, almost 170k miles. Started misfiring pretty bad a week ago, swapped around coil and plug, and found it to be a bad coil (luckily on the front bank). Put new coil in, fixed misfire. Also bought 3 new spark plugs since I've never changed them, and replaced them when doing the coil. Found them to be crappy Autolite plugs (and they "fit" but have a gap of .44, not .32 from factory). That was last week, to do the rears had to remove the intake manifold (was waiting on plenum gasket, throttle body gasket, and EGR gasket). When doing the rear bank of plugs today, pulled the coils and tubes were full of oil. Replaced the rear spark plug tube seals, and therefore the valve cover. All is well, no leaks so far from new valve cover gasket and no misfires. Car runs great with correctly gapped plugs.

This was one of those jobs where everything comes apart easily and quickly, but trying start the rear corner valve cover bolts was a PITA. Then trying to line up the intake and throttle body stay bolts and the EGR tube and be able to start them all by hand was annoying. Had to get everything together very loosely and then start tightening everything.

I attached some pictures of the rear bank, the more "zoomed in" picture has the flash on, making it look like it has varnish but it does not (see other picture). This engine gets cheap conventional every 5k miles. N/A port injected V6.

Started grinding off the rust to revile what we had to work with.

Somewhat cleaned up and ready to patch the inner.

(Yes I know the wheel arch is gonna need cut out and a panel made, but one step at a time)

Made a patch for the inner part, but it appears my old Craftsman flux welder is not up to the task of sheet metal repair. So it looks like this project got alot more expensive. Gonna see what decent sub $500 MIG welder I can find (before the gas bottle). So, looks to be on hold for just a little bit!

I'm really enjoying the posts about the work you're doing on this car. Keep it up, she's worth it. She's past being a beater now, she's a fun little project. Now you also have an excuse to buy more tools and equipment. (He who dies with the most tools wins!)

Replaced a ABS front left speed sensor on the MB S550. Didn't solve the error I am having completely, more reading suggest the sensors be replaced in pairs (left and right). Just bought another replacement on Ebay...

These sensors fail quite a bit. I am sure the sensor was replaced not so long ago at a MB dealer in Florida. Work was sloppy, cable routed carelessly. Seems to be a discussion that MB service is not what it was and/ or perceived to be. I think there is a good chance that is accurate. I would hate to bring a car to a MB dealer and just have parts swapped out at a huge price premium.

Also had the opportunity to try the safejack for the first time. Pretty good, not thrilled with the way the custom pad fits on the MB, but it is a MB design issue, not safejacks.
