What are you working on today?

Good question -

Each plant got a bag of some magic potion that I failed to document. Total screw up from a guy that loves details. There is a nursery literally (that word is not misused in this case) across the street from the end of that field. Sometimes we dont bother with a truck but take the track barrow (yardmax) over for a few bags of this or that.

I'd love to plant lemons and citrus but we're in the freeze zone 1500 FT up in the sierras so I cant go there and need hardy stuff.

I'll trade with the flatlanders below me....

I have been using chicken feed lately for fertilizer. Works pretty good and its cheap. The lemons we have in a large pot and needs to be moved once we get freeze here. We have at least 20+ days below freezing and hard frost.

Picked up this Hitchhiker on Thursday, its an allen wrench. Took it to Tire Kingdom to patch it and they couldn't due to liability as the truck is modified and has spacers on the rear. I had them air it up and drove it home. Now I will jack up the truck this A.M. and bring the tire to them.

The tires have 90,000 miles on them and will be replaced within the month. They are 5 year old Nitto Trail Grapplers.

Flying to San Diego then on to Camp Pendleton.
My grand niece is stationed there and is deploying to Kuwait for 6 months.
I will drive her Civic home for safe keeping and a checkup (maybe a Carplay radio).
Tatiana joined the Marine Corps right outta high school.

Well wasted the morning taking off the tire and bringing it to Tire Kingdom. It looked like the technician didn't want to bother patching the tire. Came back in and told me the hole was too big for the patch. The hole is less than a 1/4 inch and he shows me a patch that is a 1 1/2 diameter. So two trips to them, no results, back home, plugged it myself.

I got a quote for tires from them. Not sure I would even purchase or use them after the charade. I obtained a quote from Wal Mart for the new tires and TPMS. I really need to do some maintenance on my suspension before installing the tires such as adjusting the height, Nitrogen levels and possibly rebuilding the shocks. Waiting to hear back from Fox before deciding what to do.

In the interim I realized my tire plugging techniques needed help and tools were lacking. Purchased this to make sure I have something a little better.

Never heard that about spacers before............how wide are your spacers?

OH and they should have been able to patch that.....

They are 1.25 Spidertrax spacer to even out the width gain of 3/4 on each side due to the spindle lift. Them not patching tells a whole story for me.

A week ago, I tried to fire up the 1953 Farmall Super H to mow the pasture but after 13 years the old Duralast 6v battery had finally died. Decided it was time to replace the old 6v generator and postive ground with a modern 12v alternator. Fabricated some mounting brackets and rewired the entire tractor. But the project scope has snowballed. Degreaser and a power washer has it looking better but lots of paint was flaking off. Now the grill, gas tank, and hood are in the process of being repainted while I figure out how to repair the leaking hydraulic torque generator.

Got the emergency brakes hooked up to the rear drums, reassembled the drums and fiddled with the bracket inside near the handbrake.

Also started to figure out where to route the new brake lines. Removed the rear lines and flared the rear sections with new flares and fittings and planned out how I'm going to run new lines from the firewall to the rear. Titan 3/16 flaring tool made perfect flares.

Replacing transmission mount, upper control arm bushings, and the idler arm on the 02 Xterra. I'm not looking forward to dropping the skid plates.

Putting new wiper blades on my elderly friends 2004 Chevy Silverado. Went for a short trip with him last Friday -- it rained and those wiper blades are shot!!!

Mrs. UD and I made chicago style pizza for ourselves and neighbors this weekend.

With no grandkids of our own, we spoil the neighbors kids and help the younger family with a meal or two every few weeks.

Jasmin learned how to make dough and prepare the ingredients.
