1994 Freightliner cabover. Installing a new turbo and exhaust manifold, multiple radiator hoses, painting coolant pipes to slow rust, oil change with Detroit (Delvac) 15w40 and changing coolant to TRP prediluted ELC

Well it started out as a work free Sunday but the wheel bearing in a car I just bought a 2008 Ford Escape just failed today my dad nearly burnt it to the ground because he refused to stop it was burning smoke so much and you could smell the grease burning I kept telling him to stop and even offered to pay the tow bill home or to my shop so he wouldn’t burn it up. So I guess I will be replacing the bearing late tonight and late tomorrow night after work lol.

Today I did 2 things.

Drained and filled the power steering front axle fluid of the Kubota diesel tractor. I knew I would find a use for that unlicensed Mercon V "compatible" (?) fluid that was so cheap on Amazon last week.

Changed the oil on the 2006 Corolla LE. Now I will purchase (1) jug of Quaker State 5W-30 to restock the oil I poured in, since it's on sale for $14,67 each.

Job applications... Tough time to be in. Later on have to take out the corolla timing chain tensioner, the **** thing still leaks even after I put a new one in. So I ordered a new o ring and will try to replace the other one because it may be faulty.

Changed my oil in the 2020 Camry for the first time. It was stressful as it always is with the first change. I put in 0w16 M1 and it will get changed again when the ODO is at 10,000 miles. Would have taken photos, but, it was a blast furnace out in the garage. The filters on these Camry's are small.

Still working on the rear suspension on the 98 civic. My 17 year old son suggested we clean the rusty areas which means degreasing the areas that are covered in fluid film. Then using the wire wheel to remove the loose rust on the underbody and trailing arm. Have the driver side done and put back together the past Sunday.

Dealing with rusty bolts that needed to be sawzalled out and then vice grips and heat with Mapp has and penetrating fluid and vice grips was fun...

Primed the parts with rust Inhibiting paint. Will continue tomorrow.

My 1989 Mazda B2200 today on the way back from buying a hydraulic press for my house the brake caliper on the front passenger side decided it was going to stick and get so hot that it burned my pad right off the thing I had over 50% now I have 0% lol so now I am without a truck for at least a few days because all the stores were out of calipers so I had to order one luckily I already have 5 sets of Raybestos pads from a RockAuto closeout sale that I will be using one of those sets for the brakes it scarred up the rotor pretty bad too but because it has the hub in front of the rotor I am going to see if it will be ok without the rotors being replaced. It sucks because now my parents have to take me to work and that’s embarrassing lol but not the end of the world out of the 7 vehicles we have 6 of them are down I had to order a set of bearings for the escape too since nobody here had quality ones so that’s down and the rest of the cars just don’t run at all except my moms 2017 Camry.

Sounds like a tedious task. Once you get it all taken care of it will be good as new plus the boy gets to learn.

Mrs. Uncle Dave is trenching the little field so we can drip irrigate the fruit trees.

She's taken on this project and got bit ahead of herself by putting up the deer protection prior to trenching, but shell make it work..

Drain/flush and new thermostat for Subaru Baja in signature first thing this morning. Being furloughed from work since June 4th -- have gotten alot accomplished around the house here that I have been putting off also.

What kind of fruit?

Couple kinds of cherries (Im a cherry pie nut)
Apples
Peaches
Something called a "pluot"

I'm going to spend some money on a new breed of apple called " Cosmic Crisp' that just came out of engineering.
Trenched, irrigation is in, and they are mulched - now we water and wait.

It'll be more than we ever use, but Ive got 200 people at the office that love home baked goods and we donate free goods to our local community and families around us with kids.

One of the guys at the office is into beekeeping and has more hives than needed so we're going to set up a hive out there.
Im a little leery of it but he offered to take care of it and share the honey so Im onboard.

I just got a 1950 Arvin 451TL bakelite radio singing again. I completely recapped it and replaced three tubes. I had to make a new back out of masonite hardboard and a new loop antenna to replace the missing parts. The tuning parts were cleaned and relubricated. I'm now in the middle of repainting the cabinet.

This radio is special to me because our family had the exact radio in the kitchen when I was growing up. I have memories of listening to Motown and other pop hits on it before going off to grade school.

Finally got the parts for my Mazda truck so I am going to be doing the front caliper on the passenger side since it seized and be doing front pads and possibly rotors depending on how bad it’s scarred up. The bad part about the rotors is you have to take the hub off to remove them but I have done it before so it’s no big deal. Also will be doing a v-belt on it since the belt has started to crack.

I am trying to get lemons to take off. Sounds like some good stuff there. What did you fertilize with? Did you mix it with the dirt?

Today I did three things.

1. Rotated tires on the 2006 Corolla LE, then washed and waxed it.

2. Installed new front tires on the Kubota tractor

3. Cleaned up after wife did a bit of pruning.

Was good to get out this morning, nice and cool, 84 predicted for today, just a slight haze as the winds have pushed most of the smoke out of Cent Cal, washed our Regal GS and daughters 20 KIA Turbo Soul, used my SunJoe pressure washer and foam cannon. No smoky smell or ash fallout, beautiful Saturday morning, God is good. (y)

Good question -

Each plant got a bag of some magic potion that I failed to document. Total screw up from a guy that loves details. There is a nursery literally (that word is not misused in this case) across the street from the end of that field. Sometimes we dont bother with a truck but take the track barrow (yardmax) over for a few bags of this or that.

I'd love to plant lemons and citrus but we're in the freeze zone 1500 FT up in the sierras so I cant go there and need hardy stuff.

I'll trade with the flatlanders below me....
