What are you working on today?

Replaced driver-side power window motor and regulator on my 83 Silverado, WaPiTa. :(

Monday and Tuesday I cleaned up the apartment. Wednesday I had two brake jobs. Yesterday I replaced the valve cover, intake manifold and the plastic tube from the turbo inlet to the intake on a 2013 Cruze, and changed the oil. Today I've got a water pump to replace on an 04 Suburban.

One year old window regulator broken on my 1999 Alero. Plastic clip broke, which is no big deal all by itself, but the cable in the regulator got partially unwound and I'd have to drill out rivets and rewind and bolt back together to reuse. I got a new window regulator in the way, but might try to fix the old one to keep as a backup.

Friday I replaced front brake pads and rotors on a 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500. This morning I replaced front pads and rotors on a 2014 Honda Odyssey and changed the oil.

Just installed a backflip tonneau cover on my new ram.
This cover has water drain lines that fit through holes in the bed.

I didn't like the idea of draining water onto the frame under the bed, so I extended the drain lines to exit underneath the truck.
Heater hose would not fit through the holes in the bed, so I used tygon with the covers lines to fit through. I used heater hose on the bottom so it's not as noticeable.

I wanted to do some painting and a bike ride this weekend and give the local coffee shop/Benjamin Moore dealer (or Kelly-Moore store)/bike shop some business this weekend. Instead, I’m buttoning up Pandora’s box. A Toyota 3MZ-FE. Water inlet plate leak. But I broke a few connectors and hoses along the way.

Replaced a rotted out body mount and repaired the bracket on the frame on my 99 Blazer. Also replaced the left upper hinge on the drivers door, repaired some damage around the drivers door striker, repaired a rust hole in the y-pipe and a hood release cable as well as doing a PA state inspection and emissions. Yeah, I inspect my own cars the same way I inspect customer cars.

Probably going to grill some hamburgers this evening and do a batch of fried potatoes. Woke up 20 minutes ago and haven't had enough coffee to process everything yet. 😴

This was yesterday, but I rotated the tires on my wife's '18 CR-V. I had to use the car's jack because my hydraulic jack doesn't go high enough to get the vehicle off the ground. I noticed a nail in one of the tires, so the job took a bit longer as I took it down to get removed and patched. In the meanwhile, I meticulously picked every pebble out of each tire. Does anyone else bother to do this when rotating tires? It's probably a waste of time, but it makes me feel better.

Yesterday I bench tested a "Cheap Chinese diesel heater" I bought off eBay to replace the obsolete fanless propane heater in my hunting/fishing truck camper... the oddball propane gas valve and thermocouple are unobtanium now, so no choice, really. I'm going to try to finish installing it today.

Changed from the zip ties to insulated cable clamps with SS hardware. Looks better.

Cleaning out the basement. Got to make room for all the new tools and equipment I’ve been bringing home. Haha. Also we want to get it sealed so it doesn’t flood anymore so it needs to be clean for that. Hoping to get my work bench and everything like that set up it’s kind of useless setting in a box because we don’t have any room.

Yes, you'll be so happy that thing should last forever now, and when they have to reseal mine, 2004 Sienna, they'll find the broke off e-Torx head of a stud, there was all the thread left so I just put the nut on and figured it'll get replaced if I ever have to reseal that again...I went with the Permatex Ultra Grey for sealant,.

I did an amateur rust repair, I can't even say repair, cleaned, sprayed with Permatex 81849 Rust treatment, and pray it doesn't get any worse. As Captain Pichard would say 'Options?' (Star Trek Next Gen Reference) 3rd image is passenger side.
