Found the source of the noise on the L84.....#1 intake lifter started to fail/spall, Cam lobe looks similar. It's sad the dealer to try to sell him a new engine, At 76,000 miles this thing is spotless!!!

Awesome Chris - and your second and third will be even easier!
Got my butt kicked today by a Jeep Wrangler well not kicked too bad but still took longer than I wanted too. Took me forever to figure out how to change the auxiliary battery. And then had to wait on the tire machine to do the flat repair. I hate working on domestic cars more and more ever since I started working on imports lol. It got an oil change and tire rotation too.
That’s true. I also worked on a Chevy Silverado the other day and got to knock the dust off my 13,15 and 18mm. Even the 20mm wrench had to be used to hold the slide pins.Depends on the specific vehicle I guess....It's all nuts & bolts at the end of the day.
Missed a chance to get rid of the Aux14 before it leaves them strandedGot my butt kicked today by a Jeep Wrangler well not kicked too bad but still took longer than I wanted too. Tomorrow lined up for me is a Tacoma tow in the lube techs changed the oil in it and the drain plug came out on the interstate so I have to look and make sure it absolutely needs an engine which it does. At least most likely needs an engine because it’s knocking like a mad man. They might let me do the engine in it they said. I hope they do I want to do one so badly. Haven’t done an engine in a while. Customer drove it about a mile before they stopped because they were in the East River Mountain Tunnel going into West Virginia and they couldn’t stop inside the tunnel.
Still, he's at a dealer. They rarely condone or consider mods. Plus ANY electrical problem for the next five years will be blamed on them: "Ever since you deleted our lawn mower battery....."Missed a chance to get rid of the Aux14 before it leaves them stranded
I know, dealerships are known to keep make work projects alive at our expense. And 2 things worse than that wimpy A14 performance;Still, he's at a dealer. They rarely condone or consider mods. I keep a stockpile of the fender clips ever since doing mine. I got the black clips which I guess technically are JK but they look identical to the white JL clips and fit fine.
I do get frustrated by the snap-together-and-break-coming-apart build mentality.....I guess I'm just grumpy
Gives me shudders… or makes me twitch!Started a 10r80 build side job this morning. This one has CDF drum failure. This one the bushing walked and actually dislodged the seal completely from the shaft it seals against and was stuck inside the drum. The rest of the transmission is in pretty good shape, but going to replace all the clutches and steels anyway, as well as a full seal kit, the torque converter, and the main control. Owner wanted no long term issues. The vehicle is a 2017 F150 with a 3.5 eco-boost 90,000 miles.

I’ll fix it right up for you hahaGives me shudders… or makes me twitch!
Matt, if I still had the truck and was anywhere near, I would gladly take you up on it. When that transmission is ON, it is ON in the best way, and I really did like the truck it was in.I’ll fix it right up for you haha
Ahh didn’t realized you dumped it! Definitely costly to repair.Matt, if I still had the truck and was anywhere near, I would gladly take you up on it. When that transmission is ON, it is ON in the best way, and I really did like the truck it was in.
