What are you working on today?

Pulled the cab on a 2019 T1 L84/8L90E Silverado....Getting a DFM delete. Sent the E90 ECM off to HP Tuners to get unlocked.

First GM T1 cab I've pulled.....Not bad, Just a little different than a Ford or Dodge like the cooling module staying with the frame., Might prove to be easier/quicker actually.

Finally dealing with my "untied rods". Outers still solid but boots were split so was only a matter of time before they went bad. Inners were getting floppy with just a whisker of slop.

Next up comes lower control arms which arrive tomorrow. Should get rid of that slight steering looseness and front end vibration at cruise.
 
Got my butt kicked today by a Jeep Wrangler well not kicked too bad but still took longer than I wanted too. Took me forever to figure out how to change the auxiliary battery. And then had to wait on the tire machine to do the flat repair. I hate working on domestic cars more and more ever since I started working on imports lol. It got an oil change and tire rotation too.

Tomorrow lined up for me is a Tacoma tow in the lube techs changed the oil in it and the drain plug came out on the interstate so I have to look and make sure it absolutely needs an engine which it does. At least most likely needs an engine because it’s knocking like a mad man. They might let me do the engine in it they said. I hope they do I want to do one so badly. Haven’t done an engine in a while. Customer drove it about a mile before they stopped because they were in the East River Mountain Tunnel going into West Virginia and they couldn’t stop inside the tunnel.

Will they buy them a new Toyota engine or a reman of some kind?

Top end cleaning on 2008 Escalade 6.2.

I opted to supply through the Schraeder valve. This blanking cap was the bomb diggity to cap the usual supply side

clinebarger was kind enough to point me at the correct fuse as the Caddy 6.2 doesn't use the 5.3 fuel pump fuse or relay, but the fuse box is labeled for both engines.
 
Finally did the rear wheel brake cylinders on my daughter's Ford Escape. Months ago I tried to bleed them but broke one bleeders and felt some metal yield on the other. Picked up some from Napa.

Took my time and managed to not break the hard lines. Everything was rusty but salvageable. New parts went in and used antiseize. Bled out all the air, test drove and bled again.

The brakes feel the same, soft but do not pump up. The fluid wasn't not bad and I feel much better knowing this is done. Next up is a new front wheel bearing. Its sound just popped up the other day.

Then adjusted the door on the JD 325.

What year is her Escape? My nephew's 05 had a soft line develop cracks and start leaking. Turned out all 4 wheels had cracked lines.

@ripcord It's a 2004. I had a look at the soft lines but they appeared ok. I have not noticed any leaks or drop in the reservoir level as of yet. In the event they begin leaking, I have already began cleaning and soaking then threads.

The last time I worked in my nephew's, I tried to get the rear drums off to check the shoes but couldn't. I need to get at it again soon with some penetrating oil and a slide hammer.
 
Boys and I took 600lbs of scrap metal and 40lbs of aluminum, good little chunk back. But unfortunately spent that on gas for truck and 5 gallon can for the mower/tiller. Put 1/4 can of Berryman in the 5 gallon, the rest and half of another in the truck and saving a splash for the 2 cycles. Reloaded the trailer with Festiva parts to take to the new property, scrap wood to burn and a roof top carrier to store stuff in till I get a 20ft container. The next couple weekends going to start transferring stuff that can be stored down there, 22.5 acres so plenty of room. But I promised to myself and her I wouldn't make it junky!

Who says a few extra rigs and some implements along the tree row are junky? They just jealous.
