What are you working on today?

Gradually drain and fill. Keeps the AX4N strong. Mercon V ONLY! Heard these transes hate "super fluids" or anything that is not Mercon V.

Got my eye watching P0191 code.. sometimes the idle lopes a couple hundred RPM (or surge up and down, depending on how you word it.) Suspecting bad gas. Will give it a week or two to see if it runs through and gets back to normal.

Trans fluid level perfect BTW.

Installed a new 12 inch subwoofer plus stuffed the roughly 2 ft.³ sealed sub enclosed box with poly-fill then readjusted the gain/input sensitivity and LP pass fq's on the JL audio amp.. sounds really great, and can hit if you want it to! & huge shout out to @researcher for his detailed responses in my audio thread and no pun intended "amping" me up    🙏 🙏
hey you're welcome for the help! Glad you're enjoying the deep dive into car audio!

Today I stayed home and did some work on my 2004 Silverado. Replaced rear brake rotors, pads, calipers and hoses and also did a partial transmission fluid change with an extractor through the dipstick tube.

I’m rather surprised at how large the Tcase is compared to the trans itself. Is the TC really that large, or is the transmission smaller than most?

Both are good size. Trans is 350 lbs or so by itself

Had to abort my mission. I could NOT get the FL-820S on the Taurus.

And the last two pics shown radiator totally buried in bodywork, not that anyone (from last year) would DARE admit I was right on that observation. The tank is not on the radiator like a radiator cap. The reservoir is still the most accessible point.

Going to a car wash, seeing if P2197 keeps on or goes away (I suspect bad gas.)

Maybe @53' Stude will get that one. I was lied to last year. It's actually a brand new FL820S. Just wouldn't fit.. was too big. Maybe an FL400S would. The Supertech MP7317 did as did a Fram..

I'm cleaning up the oil now. Might be a little on the dark side. I suppose it has done some cleaning.

Disconnecting battery for half hour and reconnecting may very well have solved issue.

Huh?

Isn’t the right way to change it from underneath?

Thus the car on ramps?

Yet you dump oil on the ground???!?

Is this the right filter model for the vehicle? Have you ever changed the filter on this car before??!?

Bad gas just isn’t a thing. You have an old car with a CEL. Something has failed. No amount of battery disconnect and posting that you got bad gas is going to fix physical, electrical, and catalytic issues.
