What are you working on today?

B123 service on the Odyssey after a nice morning with family.

First the cabin filter, then the rest…

Thanks to @The Critic for an NPN filter! It has the same 36 pleats as the OE Honda. Not sure if it’s as oily but it works!

Nice kit - you went back to KO2’s - those Kenyan tires too harsh?
No, I upgraded to 37's and at the time Kanati did not have a 37 anywhere I could buy.

35K miles later on the KO2's, they have to go. They will not stay balanced and they are taking more weight each time.

The body shop made a few errors on the Milan
So I had to tuck in and resecure some weatherstripping, adjust the wiper arms so they park at exactly the right spot
Top off washer fluid, fresh NWB wiper blades, air up the tires
Should be back in business, gotta take it for NYS inspection this week 😳

I've discovered here in snow country (Colorado) I prefer to clock the blades up a notch so they actually benefit from defrost heat. Obviously you've gotta make sure that they don't go off the reservation at full travel but there's usually some tolerance

That's 5-10k better than Milestar Pats!!!

I'm too busy to pause for equipment maintenance but sometimes it just HAS TO happen.

This is a beater swivel head band saw I purchased 5+ years ago for $300. Lately the drive pulley started wobbling until it would simply throw the blade. The previous shop had modified it poorly to work around this after they apparently lost the key.

I only had 1/4" key stock so I had to modify that to 5mm key stock

I balanced (poorly) the little saw on a lift arm and raised it enough to get onto my hydraulic cart. SOOOO nice to not have to repeatedly crouch while servicing this.

Regraded one of our barn stalls that has been closed to everything except foot traffic for 30-40 years. Lots of old groundhog holes. The Deere 1025r fit perfectly inside the stall and got everything knocked back down. Needing a shelter for the cattle when we get cold over the next couple weeks. Also moved another semi trailer out by the road for sale.

I don’t get the hoopla about those.
They are a good all around all terrain tire and I wanted a set of Mickey Thompson Baja A/Ts (the new design), but at the time with the COVID supply chain garbage they were not available.

The BFGs in LRC were available so I went with them. They handle and ride just fine and honestly are the quietest tire I have had in the past 10 years, but the balancing mess (and I am not the only one to complain about it) makes them a very low value.

Yeah, but overall given the cost, it is not acceptable. Pats are (were) cheap, these KO2's were $2500ish with mounting, balancing, taxes, etc. and are a major brand.

Not what I would expect...

Plus they run small(er than most). You almost have to get the 39's if you want 37's

Although all tire makers never meet the actual size, BFG is one of the worst. My 37's are about 35.7" whereas most others are in the 36.7" range.

Definitely will be shopping for new ones--Mickey Thompson is on the radar, but they recently increased by $50 per tire so I am "living with" these BFGs until I find a deal.

I love my BFGs, but they do run on the small side, and I've noticed they wear out quick on anything heavier. I have friends who only ran them on their lifted Cherokee XJs, YJ Wranglers, etc, then had them on a 4-door JK/JL or full-size truck and got half the life out of them. Same goes for the Goodyear Duratrac. Great tires for a lighter 4x4, but put them on something heavier and they wear quick.
