What are you working on today?

Trying to figure out why my pulley on my manual belt tensioner that has the power steering belt running on it is sticking again it’s a 1989 Mazda B2200 last time the pulley went bad and broke the belt and it’s sticking again I can’t spin it by hand either I’ve never dealt with this issue before.
Replace just the bearing with a quality USA or Japan part. Cheap bearings are trash

This morning I cleaned the throttle body on my 2011 Mazda 6 to troubleshoot a low RPM idle condition. Seems to have done the trick.

Would drive an B2000 ( '86 or '87 ) with the 4 cylinder and 5 speed manual on occasion . Had heck of a time with clutch feel ( stall from stops ) 😳. Our cars were all sticks at the time and had no problem with those . Otherwise , did like that truck . Would be good to see a small P.U. like that brought back again .

My clutch is actually pretty good the only time I’ve stalled is when I was first learning to drive stick and it was on that. That’s my truck she had a rough past life the previous owner side swiped a mail box and hit a pole at Walmart with it but I know the original owners family as his wife was my bus driver in school.

Yesterday I changed the oil on the Venza that had previously been done by the dealership. It beggars belief how tightly the oil filter cap was torqued down. With the Toyota oil filter tool and a 1/2 ratchet wrench I was using all my strength to barely get it to budge. I then had to use the Harbor Freight 25” professional breaker bar to get it to loosen. That finally did the trick.

I replaced it with a WIX 57047 oil filter and Super Tech full synthetic 0W-20 oil. Two of the clips that hold on the plastic shielding were missing and I had to replace them too.
I had a similar experience on a Corolla. I was afraid I would break the composite housing so I left the filter.
I asked the lady to take it where they did the last oil change and have them swap the filter.
It is supposed to be like 18 pound feet. Sheesh.

Washed the rides today since it was nice outside (42 degrees and sunny).
Continuing ever more on my garage - tool - junk pile of a project.
Sorting, pitching, organizing. Think I need to focus a lot more on the pitching part.

I struggle with separation anxiety. Can't pitch that. Might need that someday....
Can you put it in another pile somewhere? I have a some stuff I got rid of (extra tools etc). I have a shed so some stuff gets moved there. Just like with car care stuff, tend to get extras before the old stuff gets used.

I just finished replacing front brake pads on my neighbor's '04 Buick LeSabre, he was quoted $528 at a local tire shop.

He's 93 years old going on 70. A couple months ago he knocked on the door asking if I could help him put the belt back on his Taurus as he couldn't reach the tensioner. I walked over and found he had just replaced the water pump, by himself, in his gravel driveway. Put the belt on and told him he was welcome to come over with any car work needing done, and I'd take care of it for him.

Asked me the other day how to replace disc brake pads, as he was used to drums. I told him to bring it over after church and I'd do it for him. I used a set of Wearever semi-metallic pads, $17.65 on my business account with Advance. I told him it was on me, but he insisted on giving me $50 when it was done.

People like you keep the world going!

Nothing today, but I just finished replacing the clutch and slave cylinder on the wife's Versa this weekend. Pedal went the floor and it dumped brake fluid out the bellhousing. I documented the process so now I'm working on editing a video.
