What are you working on today?

I set out a few tomato plants and a few pepper plants. Might try to make some homemade salsa this year. I'm not much of a green thumb, but tomatoes and peppers are simple enough to stay after.

Got this thing out. Now I'll open it up and see why it pops out of 2

Finally, the Submarine float is all done. We had a big party today! Proud to be a part of the Submarine Navy, Proud to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Each blue or yellow flag is for a submarine that was lost with all hands. Both sides have flags. Percentage wise, submarines lost the most amount of personnel compared to those who served but had the biggest impact on winning WWII.

Just replaced the fuel filter on the 2010 Crown Vic, simple job and had no idea how old the current filter was so picked up a new wix filter up and replaced what appeared to be an OE filter drained out a bunch of black gunk and sediment from the old filter, next week gona be either changing the transmission fluid and filter and performing the JMod to the transmission or changing out the rear differential fluid

Helped a single friend get acquainted with the riding mower that came with her new home/project. I’d pulled the battery months ago to keep it charged. Installed it, an off-brand tender that worked very well here, did a top-side oil change and helped her learn the controls and drive it around some, and then another OC for her push mower.

put the new lower grill on the GS 350 and was pleased to see my paint job with rust oleum plastic paint, covered by U-Pol clear, looked absolutely better than what was there before. Hopefully this is the last time the bumper comes off for a while.

examined butcher block offerings at the big box store in making plans to build a dining table for my son.

mowed the lawn, went nice and slow, and spent hours working on a lesson for Wednesday night.

celebrated my 12 year anniversary Saturday with my wife. She’s an accountant and it’s tax season, so “celebrate“ meant dinner at Panera and ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Perfect!

this was the tender I picked up for her riding mower. I was very pleased with how it operated at home, it’s price, and the reviews. Not many reviews of premature failure, fewer than the big names!

bitog, you guys are the best.

Other than installing my new water heater, the Type S got a brand new front bumper. The bumper had been replaced before and the paint was terrible. Coming off in sheets, so I bought a new bumper from Acura and had a local place paint it. Car looks new again.

My Buick Roadmaster decided it wanted a new brake booster on Friday night, had to scramble to find one available locally the next day. It was the last one but it was a cheap reman unit that was "Pre-adjusted." That turned out to be a big fat lie because the brakes were dragging after replacement and the new unit has no adjustable push rod so I had to back the nuts off the master cylinder to stop the dragging. I absolutely will not be buying aftermarket after that. Lesson here is to snatch up factory/OEM whenever.

Looks like my next job is doing to be one I've been putting off for. years. Rack and pinion. No sooner did I get the control arms replaced I sprung an internal power steering fluid leak and now have loose steering.

Can you just shorten the rod a little with abrasive of your choice?

A 1992 Chevrolet Silverado was towed in this morning with a serious oil leak. The oil pressure sensor was pouring. I replaced the sensor and changed the oil, and while under the truck I noticed the transmission mount rubber had completely separated from the metal base, and I could lift the tail shaft right off the cross member, so it got a new mount too.

According to Continentals website
If your tires become unserviceable within the first 12 months, we’ll replace them for free.
Coverage is within the first 12 months from the date of purchase or the first 2/32nds treadwear, whichever comes first.
I'll give them and my tire shop a call, see what they have to say

2006 F250 4x4, 3V 5.4L/5R110, Engine is toast......Took a 36" Breaker on the crank bolt to get to the torque converter nuts.
Customer is supplying a remanufactured engine from Autozone.....What could possibly go wrong??

Sad thing is, This truck has wreaking yard engine installed in it now....So this will be at least engine number 3.
The "Yard" engine has the wrong Timing Cover for this application, PS Pump only had the 2 rear bolts installed, Though the AZ reman has the correct one.
Of coarse whomever installed the "Yard" engine did it with the Cab On & the Trans Harness was laying on the Exhaust Manifold. I see this quite a bit on Ford Trucks with replacement engines, If one wants to do this Cab on, That's your decision.....But secure the trans harness back before you ship it!
