I think with Woman Tonight and You Can Do Magic they sold their souls to corporate. Dan Peek had to leave to retrieve his.
But I do remember thinking that this - now 47 year old ! - ditty had a funky groove for sure. About the same time as Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight, and Cap'n and Tenille - Muskrat Love were playing on Top 40. I know I had a side job as a janitor and was cleaning a kindergarten building and listened to these tunes on the radio when working at night.

I too still have a box of some 45's that I kept that didn't get "frisbee'd" from memory:
