edit...my daughter is looking for her first job.
When she gets it, and saves, we are going halves in a hurdy gurdy.

LOL! Yeah, I did apparently. I'll be doing an iTunes search later.

Do either of you play a stringed instrument presently or is this going to be an entirely new learning experience for both of you?

I hate structured lessons, and have abandoned them many times.
Can do Stairway to Heaven (queue wyane's world), and the intro to Tears of the Dragon (to daughter's disgust).

She is self taught, and is in discovery, but could sight read music and play the flute at 7....

Really good!

Always amazes me how much a perceived accent all but disappears in song. I've noticed this with music from Oz and the UK, where when you hear somebody talk they have, to my ear, an strong accent, but when they sing it is almost imperceptible.

Excellent Shannow. She's great.

I play drums but just as a hobby. My brother got the music gene.

Here is my brother covering some DT:

This was for a local radio contest. This is more focused on technique. He writes his own songs as well.

That's great buster!

I play bass, but generally just do covers of Metallica, FFDP...etc. I'm far from good, I simply don't practice enough.

Nice, I love bass. It takes a lot of practice and time for sure.
