What are you listening to right now?

Clash Sandinista, full LP on vinyl. 1980. Three vinyl set absolutely filthy foul. Needed soak and multiple cleans. Needle STILL loads up 2-3X per side. Seems not huge damage though. 45 years old.

Topper Headon, props for his drumming.

Grover Washington, jr. Winelight.
Was unboxing my old albums and found this unopened from 1980! Lol.
Great sound from my system. A few pics, if interested.

Tell me about the amp!

How old? Where made? Watts? Noise etc

Fine looking sub cabinet

Preamp Hafler 110 also modified by Musical Concepts.

Back in the day, they replaced components they felt were inferior with higher quality.
Speakers Canton Plus S satellites with passive subwoofer.
Turntable Luxman PD 284 with Ortofon Red M2 cartridge. My old Shure VR15 bit the dust! Still breaking it in but very happy with this entry level cartridge.
Monster cable interconnects.
I went down the audiophile rabbit hole a bit back then! Fortunately I regained my sanity before spent my entire retirement savings LOL
I forgot just how good analog sound is!! The sound stage is amazing.
This system is circa 1980-1985

Wow. Very nice.

Can you get a close-up shot of the pre-amp? (I won't ask for rear panel shot hahahahha. maybe sometime)

Do you have two phono inputs? MM/MC?
Input in the preamp is MM only. Could have had it modified for MC back then, but didn’t want to spend the extra dollars. Never could have imagined I would ever be able to afford a system that could take advantage of a MC cartridge.

Well I agree MM v. MC. The new MM cartridges are every bit as good as MC and whole lot less $. All because new small magnets.

Anyway, what is that button and the line by PHONO on the input selector???

Allows you to run two turntables. The button selects 1 or 2. The line just points you in the right direction.
