Who ever enjoys this really needs to watch this LIVE version where Stephen Stills shows a hint of the type of guitar hero he could have been had he chosen the instrument route instead of the all around artist career he chose and settled on. Saw him LIVE in solo tour in the 70s and it was a really awesome show. Nothing like his "home" inside of CSYN band.

The Firebird Stills is playing may be the same one Clapton is playing in this video of Cream. Clapton gave Stills his Firebird, but I believe Stills went on to purchase several more.

A friend I met thru an online music group years ago sent me some CDs from his bands and a photo of a very similar Firebird. Just like the one below. The story with it was he went to a show called Zappa plays Zappa. Frank's son Dweezil (I was told very good) playing lots of dad, Franks more lively guitar tunes. George who is a pretty good guitarist met Dweezil after and told him several stories about Frank who he went to college with and he even knew Frank stories from their high school years. Dweezil enjoyed the Frank stories so much. Knew they were true from things George could only know thru being a personal friend to Frank. Dweezil was selling off tons of Frank's left behind possesions. One of which was a very similar Firebird to Still's. George told Dweezil how much the Frank owned and played Firebird meant to him. Dweezil told George he had so many of Frank's things to sell if he did not he would need to build a storage facility. Most important , if he did not sell off much of it his wife would be tossing him to the curb! LoL... Dweezil took Frank's business cards and they separated intent to make a deal for the Firebird. George was supposed to contact Dweezil later but lost his contact info. Six months or so later George said the Firebird turned up at his house with a note from Dweezil saying that Frank would want him to own the Firebird and that Dweezil did not want anything for it. He said the payment to him was in the from of the stories and memories of Frank they alone shared together! Nice guy! Dweezil if you ask me. I have seen video of him playing and he is SCARY GOOD. Amazing the talent passed on, Just like Duanne Betts who can out play his father.
