It is a very good album, I'm not too sure about that song "Mother", but other than that one, it's almost perfection. Synchronicity 1 and 2 are great songs with Synchronicity 2 being particularly haunting as it leaves you wondering what happens at the end.
Several of the songs on this album are coming from a dark place in Sting's mind because of a very bad divorce that he was going through if my memory serves. IMO, Sting has always been a great songwriter, but reading the lyrics to a lot of the songs from that album, it's obvious that he was going through something. A bad time for him gave us one of the greatest albums from the '80s.
