Schon, Perry, Cain, Valory, and Smith, this was the best lineup in Journey's history when it came to making great music IMO.

Journey is one of my favorite bands. Journey for me will always be Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Gregg Rollie and Steve Smith. I don't care much for Jonathan Cain, I feel he really brought the sound and songwriting down when he joined but Escape is a great record. I listen to it pretty often. And Infinity, Departure and Evolution. I also really like Captured, I am no fan of live records but that one is very good. I wish I could have seen Journey live back in the day.

I like all of their pre-Perry stuff as well. It's a totally different sound and most people don't even know that Journey was a thing before Steve Perry joined.
