What are you eating right now?

Is goat hard to source in your area?
Where I live it’s hard to find and expensive for all but the worst cuts. There used to be a place that sold live goats for $25 each about 20 minutes away but urban sprawl and progress wiped out that little farm.
The entire animal for $25?
Goats are too cute for me to eat.
I've been off duck for about 15yrs for the same reason.

Goats are skinny ugly devils. Eating them is no problem, well except the bones. Duck is near the top of fatted juiciness.

I could never eat a primate. That's about the line I draw on meat.
I think a baby goat is one of the cutest animals on the planet, ducklings are right up there.
I won't eat reptiles, organ meats, thymus glands, tongue, hog ****, all the horrible stuff they eat in Asia. No monkeys for me either...
If it wasn't so expensive I could live on venison for the rest of my life.

I think I've said it before; you can't eat at my house. :ROFLMAO:

Deer are cute but not as cute as goats. As I've said before, organ meats have always been off the table because they're parts of the animal that had a job (filtering). I'm not keen on eating something who's job for the last several years was filtering waste products. I've heard heart and tongue is tasty but I'm not ready to take that leap. Asians take hog buttholes, rinse them, turn them inside out, slice them into rings like calamari. I've had nightmares about it. If you eat with your eyes first, I'm still flabbergasted how some of these things evolved.

I guess😁
I'd have to be worked down to around 130lbs and near death to go that route though.

My Beijing born co-worker told me that Guangdong (Canton) province in China is the place where they kind of take almost a perverse pride in eating the most weird and over the top foods. IE sheep fetus soup.

The French used to wear hoods at the table and suck the innards out of birds through the fudge tunnel.
They wore the hoods because they knew just how deviant they were. Disgusting...
Was called ortolan eating.

There wasn’t a lot of demand for goat kids in the area and the little farm was only a few acres so as soon as they were old enough they got sold. Mostly ethnic people bought them and used them as lawn mowers, then when big enough they would butcher them and put them on the charcoal spit.

At one of my fav Asian markets, you can buy congealed pig's blood by the pound. Very convenient. A very nice local Chinese restaurant has a section in the back of the menu titled, "The other parts of the pig." :)
