What are you eating right now?

No granola slice? I miss your food pics mate
The 7-eleven freebies over the past month were only drinks, but I should be getting a free granola slice later this week.

I grabbed a clearance frozen “roti pie” from the supermarket for about USD $0.33 and cooked that for lunch with some salad greens.

Carolina Low Country Ham Hock, Dry Beans and Rice!
My Mothers family is from the low Country Coastal Carolina so I grew up loving what many may consider "poor people food" but its a taste of Home for me!

My kids grew up thinking my beans and rice was Redneck Caviar and will request it at least once a month now that my kids are grown.

I prefer Great Northern beans but any bean works cooked 6+ hours in a slow cooker complete with Smoked Ham Hock, left over bacon grease ( a must ) and creole seasoning for a kick...

The only side needed is my home made simple slaw... FRESH Grated cabbage ( fresh, not the bag stuff ) made with ONLY Duke's Brand Mayo, ONLY Duke's and LOTS and LOTS OF IT! Duke's is MUST, NO other Mayo has what Duke's has or does what Duke's does, IF you know you know and IF you don't you live up North or under a rock...

I use Salt, pepper and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar served at room temp...

Optional top the beans with fresh ground Black pepper and or Tabasco ( I like the red and green ) but Tabasco NOT Texas Pete!

I cook a big pot of beans once a week during winter months and my family eats all day.
