Forgot this thread existed! I did this yesterday, but thought I'd share.

I think I may have made the best steak of my life. Local Food Lion had this really thick ribeye on sale. Something like 22oz for $14? Anyways being so thick I wanted to try the reverse sear method on my Pit Boss.

Set at 220° and put the probe in

After an hour or so it was around 110° ish and time to crank up the heat. Added a little garlic and herb butter to the top. Seared both sides, not the best, but it worked!

I like it a little bit more rare, but this was done so perfect it was just fine. The mushrooms I kinda ad-libbed and they turned out wonderful as well!

Looks great. To me “best” steak is from local butchers like Milkhouse Meats and Biggies Meat. I don’t buy any meat at any grocery store. That’s what grandma on moms side taught us

I have had some amazing steaks from the grocery stores up here, the Loblaws chain of stores has an awesome meat department. Same with Metro. And they aren’t super expensive either. I had a package of 3 large Striploins that was under $30 Canadian and they were the best steaks I’ve had in a long while
