What are you eating right now?

Soft shell tacos
Took remaining materials and threw together a multilayer dip for chips.

I was just thinking you could buy a smaller package. Couple steaks and ground bif.
I doubt they ship. His locker is an hour drive away. We have a great locker as well, about 20 minutes from here. Used to have my grocery getter stop and get meat there on occasion if she went to the city. I no longer drive or cook much. Only thing I use is a microwave, toaster, or George Foreman grill. Perfectly good Weber grills outside, but I can't do it anymore.

Got bad news to boot yesterday. Grocery getter moved out of town, but I knew she was thinking about it before, so it came as no surprise. Money problems got in the way, and are foreclosing on her house, so she moved in with a friend about 45 minutes from here.

Good thing though. I called out county Public Health, same ones that come and help me several times per week to shower. They consider me "low income" because all I am getting is Social Security every month. I do have a couple 401K accounts and investments that I have never drawn out any money yet. Enough in checking and savings that I don't need additional income for quite a few years, unless I end up back in a nursing home. Showers are $7.50 each and grocery getting and household chores are $9.00 per hour. Can't beat a deal like that. I pay by grocery getter $50.00 per week, for about an hours time.

But in a little over a year, I will turn 70 years old. Guess it is mandatory one must start withdrawing savings after that age, so that could change in the future. Will talk with my accountant after first of the year and get advise,

ref 401K, etc: You may not need to take a mandatory withdrawal until the year you turn age 73. I am taking my first mandatory withdrawals in 2024 because they moved the mandatory withdrawal age limit, which is when I turn 73.

Do you need to withdraw a certain $ amount or percentage from all accounts? I have no idea and will talk with the accountant next year.
Sorry to drag this into the food forum. Should probably open a new thread. Sorry for the stuff being put here.

Both good resources. Depending on your tax and life situation, you should be taking some $ out already.

Side note: I will just tell you to be as active as possible. Just a little at a time.

Why withdraw now, if I don't need the $. It would set in a checking or savings acct and probably draw less interest, unless I invest it otherwise. But who knows these days.

Will ask my accountants advice first of the year. I'm not that good at reading thorough all that stuff anyway. Time comes to "pay the man"

Kirkland kale salad mix. Lots of them so I’ll eat them up. I throw out their dressing and go with yogurt or oil& vinegar. And turkey and some asparagus mom gave me recipe too. Love it more than Brussels sprouts. Back home now, and th misses is making a veal dish also(Italians cook for a army I swear)
