Topped off moms Benz EUV gas tank at &4/gal premium then to local brother owned riverfront grille

Had a huge captezzi chicken, steamed veggie medley and was delicious. Have enough left over for least two meals. I treated mom to the fuel up and lunch since she cared for me along with nurses. One of the two take out boxes.

Tonight’s snack or healthy meal. Found that if you use your own or make own balsamic dressing and oil, and throw the additional “stuff” out you end up with lower sodium. At $2 at Giant Eagle or Foodland I won’t complain.

At vavavroom; what’s your honest take on these if I remove the added stuff included? I do make spinach and kale salads at home too
Thank You

You've already answered your own question. KISS. Oil, vinegar, water, herbs, and spices. I like carrot and ginger dressings made with olive oil and maybe some sesame oil. Homemade yogurt dressings are good. Kale needs vinegar or lemon juice to help break it down a little. You also want to give the kale a good massage to break up its tough fibers.

Hearts of romaine and avocado. Took the cheese, what I thought was salt and pepper packet out. Some local Amish smoked ham mom got. Newmans OEM lite raspberry walnut vinaigrette.

Further experiments in Japanese-style cooking: This afternoon I made a quick and easy Japanese-style potato salad. The ingredients were a variant of the original recipe, but I was mostly trying to get the dressing dialed in. I made three batches of dressing and as a result, I found my preferred vinegar.
