What are you eating right now?

Disappointing night for food. Went to two restaurants, kitchen closed at both, but happy to sell me booze. Ended up at Kroger, the shrimp are still frozen and yet super smelly, and the crackers ended up being 7.99, no price on the shelf. At 7.99 I would have passed .

shrimp most likely frozen months ago in Vietnam or Thailand etc............. Man, these days more than ever we need to look at all the packaging in the stores as you got no clue where things you would expect to be around the blocks are from around the earth!

We been going to this newer store someone opened right next to a Winn Dixie - grocery store that has been here for years.
The newer store (about 8 mo) is called ALDI and is pretty neat so far. It is super clean. Has all kind of products you do not see in
our regular stores. Only thing is I wonder how long they can survive...? I go in there any times from 0900am to about 0600pm
and there is almost no one shopping there? I wonder why folks seem to be avoiding this nice new place?

We've had an ALDI store in Council Bluffs, IA. for over 20 years. I used to stop there almost weekly when working in the city. Some good deals to be had and a clean store.

The most amazing part is checking out. Those folks can scan the items faster than I can unload the cart! They need to train Walmart employees the scanning tricks. Only bad thing I ever got there was bacon too salty to eat. Very generous on returns if you are not happy. Wish we had one in my town. Probably would cut my food bill by 40% as a guess.
