What are you eating right now?

After looking at the list of ingredients I don't care about the amount of carbs etc.

MODIFIED WHEAT STARCH, WATER, VITAL WHEAT GLUTEN, WHEAT GLUTEN ISOLATE, VEGETABLE SHORTENING (INTERESTERIFIED AND HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OILS), SALT, CALCIUM PROPIONATE (TO PRESERVE FRESHNESS), SODIUM ACID PYROPHOSPHATE, BAKING SODA, DISTILLED MONOGLYCERIDES, SORBIC ACID (TO PRESERVE FRESHNESS), FUMARIC ACID, CELLULOSE GUM, SUNFLOWER OIL, NATURAL FLAVORS, STEVIOL GLYCOSIDES
Well there is that.

Never did but you act like it’s just a free condiment eat more it’s awesome for you but the truth is it will kill your waistline calories add up fast with it.
Never said that either.

Let's think/talk this through.

It is a fat. I’m not eating a jar and even a tablespoon is a lot in volume and taste - on a sandwich. Again it is a fat, which is indeed super calorie dense. But it will hardly pop blood sugar, if at all. A tablespoon of Duke's has 100 calories. It has zero (0) grams of carbohydrates. The ingredient list is reasonable, but the oil is trashy - soybean oil. That you can pick on! I don't eat much of any of the trash seed oils, but again a tablespoon or less per day. Plus many mayos have sugar.

ALL That said, it's a matter of taste. Duke's is not sweet and tastes best to me. My choice. It's better than mustard in taste on a turkey sandwich to me. Eat whatever you want - taste and diet. If you limit your calories, which of course there is always a limit, mustard definitely is the lower calorie choice. (5-10 kcal/tbsp)

Made some cinnamon, vanilla, clove, ginger, ground walnut, and sugar whipped butter cream for the Thanksgiving dinners. It's great on crackers.

The only mayo I will occasionally eat is Kewpie. It is not made with whole gg but only with egg yolks. It's good in egg salad.
I like Kewpie, but low tang and wow what is the sodium load? (105mg v 70mg for Duke's) Always tastes so salty. Maybe because it has MSG? Maybe just perceived? It's what my wife grew up with but now she says it tastes too greasy. Go figure. Stick woman eats so little oil and just a bit of meat, I do worry about her.

Nothing but Miracle Whip please. I worked at Kraft where they made it by the ton. The had the strangest Rube Goldberg type mixing pump with three big pistons. Egg mix, Oil and the water spice.

Kraft would get the egg yokes and white separated by the tanker load. Pump them off into storage and then park the empty tankers outside. Well cooking in the sun and it generated a lot of hydrogen sulfide with the tankers closed up.

They had an automatic tank washer but someone still had to open the thing up and put the wands in. The fumes were terrible. Big complaints at a non union shop the poor tank washer expected electricians to fix.....

When I was in college (lab job) I visited a mayo plant. It's a very interesting emulsion - colloidal - nearly thixotropic "liquid"

Miracle Whip used to be my favorite, but not so much anymore. Too sweet. I didn't look up the nutrition........post the label if you can

They made all kinds of mayo there. Some with olive oil, some with lime. it's all the same with a different mix of spices and sugar. The light and no fat stuff they use methyl cellulose as the oil substitute.

When they made the Canadian Miracle Whip and Mayo they used real sugar otherwise it's all fructose.

I use maybe a teaspoon of mayo in a pound of egg salad. To me mayo is like tartar sauce or remoulade. I may consume it in very small quantities to add a hint of flavor but if I see someone lubricating fried fish or fries with any of that stuff it makes me gag. I absolutely loathe potato salad made with mayo.
