What are you eating right now?

Making coffee from the dregs: I was about to wash the French press, and looking at the amount of spent coffee remaining in the pot got Mr. Penurious thinking about reusing the leftovers. So, I heated a few ounces of water, poured it into the press, stirred well, and let it steep for a couple of minutes more than usual. I fully expected dishwater and wasn't too far off. The results tasted pretty much as I remembered McDonald's and other drive-thru places I tried on last year's trip to the Midwest. In other words, it's something that many people drink and find acceptable. Even though I don't care for it, in a pinch it could work, especially with cream and sweetener. It was as good as the coffee some of my neighbors make.

A small piece of Point Reyes blue cheese: just a snack before turning out the light:. It's been a while since I've had any blue cheese and I was reminded how much I like it. The Point Reyes is very nice, very flavorful, but not overly intense. I enjoyed it at room temp and just let it melt in my mouth while watching a documentary.
