What are you eating right now?

Wife and I decided we would smoke some brisket this weekend. Found a "choice" brisket a couple days back on clearance at the local Food Lion and brought it on home. Got up Friday morning, seasoned the brisket and then placed back in the fridge to let the seasoning set in.

Put on the smoker last night at 9:15 and let it smoke all night at 200 degrees. About 10 am today pulled the brisket and wrapped in butcher paper. Pulled a little after 1 and let it rest until 5. Wife made up some baked beans to go along with it.

Brisket turned out wonderful. Had a decent bark, great hickory smoke flavor, juicy and pull apart tender. First time I have ever used the unwaxed butcher paper for a brisket smoke. Think I prefer that to wrapping in foil.

Toast and bacon. We made eggs too but I’ve gotten to where I don’t care for eggs without cheese and we don’t have any shredded cheese so I was out of luck lol. I have to leave and go do something anytime we cook bacon because I can’t stand that my mom cuts it in half. If I didn’t leave I would say something really bad because it makes my blood boil lol. Cook your bacon WHOLE. I don’t know who taught her to do that but it makes me so angry.

You should try SPAM or ham. I haven’t had bacon in a long time

So we just got back from NYC for a concert, and was actually our first time in the city. And being the huge pizza-fanatics we are... Absolutely had to make a list of the "must do" pizza stops around Manhattan and go to them all. We landed Wednesday morning and flew out Friday evening, so it was a short stop but still packed in a ton! Along with all the pizza places, of course we did sight-see... Walked through Central Park, went up to the Edge observation deck, Times Square, WTC memorial ponds, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Station, etc... Was an amazing time!

As far as our favorite? That's really hard... I would just say the top 3 that stuck out in my head most... Joe's, Mama's Too and John's of Bleecker... Oh, and that pepperoni sicilian from Prince's... Yum. It is REALLY close though, they are all fantastic. I also had to get one $1 slice, just because, and you absolutely can tell it wasn't in the same league as the others... But I still liked it for what it was.

Our final list of stops:

1.) Joe's

2.) Prince Street

3.) Di Fara

4.) Mama's Too

5.) John's of Bleecker Street

6.) 99c Fresh Pizza

7.) Ben's Pizza of SoHo

8.) Scarr's

9.) Pizza Suprema

10.) Joe's (again!)

Sorry for the many photos, but given it's a food thread... Here are all the pizzas we enjoyed in NYC!
