I've never had a crab cake, but I love crab, so I'm game.

Iowa is not the best place to find those. But then again, I live in a small town of less than 5000 population and seldom travel.
I see them in the frozen food dept in grocery stores. But I figure they are = to Banquet frozen dinners. LOL

GON travels all over and gets all the good stuff! Did you ever get an Iowa Tenderloin when you were here? I forget.

JD,

Yes I had an Iowa pork tenderloin sandwich. Wow it was sooooooo good.

There are pluses and minus to traveling. I am in Washington DC this morning, three times zones from where I live. I could not fall asleep last night, although I had a nice room. I fly back to Seattle in a few hours, head to my office, do required actions, and then go home to my Wife. Tomorrow morning back on a plane.

I am super jealous of you in Iowa, living in a small community. Iowa is an awesome place, wonderful people and community spirit. And people who work hard to support and live the American dream.

Life is often a tradeoff. As mentioned, I am in WDC this morning. My rental car is a Toyota Prius. I now am worried if the catalytic convertor was stolen last night in the hotel parking lot. If it is gone, huge additional paperwork challenge for me, as the organization I work for is self-insured. The rental car company will charge me personally for the loss and could take months before I get reimbursed. All silly stuff, but traveling for work has its pluses and minuses, and some hidden minuses. I always tell my Wife I am never going on a plane, ever- the day I retire.

If you are jealous of living in Iowa Gon, place for sale down the street now!

No crab cakes, but plenty of pork tenderloins! Great down to earth folks as well.

You might be shell shocked though, from your life style. Taught my Granddaughter to squirrel hunt and shoot her first one. Cleaning also.

Our freezers are normally stocked with venison too.

JD,

The first twenty years of my job, I slept outside often, many times for many days at a time. As late as 2018 I slept outside with simply a sleeping bag, nothing else. Later in my career only had to sleep outside only four or five times per year. In 2018 I was given a "desk job" and ended up traveling continually.

Iowa is definitely a wonderful place to live. Great people, great land.... I suspect Iowa even runs a trade surplus with its grain exports.

A lot of the grain (more soy beans than corn) from eastern Nebraska end up over seas (China), it's actually made a big difference around here over the years with helping the little guy stay on his farm.

You can take the boy off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the boy.

I love kefir. Is that one too sweet? Too sharp?? Funky?
funky and sweet, this one is tastes like a smoothie

I prefer the plain one; the plain one is hard to find these days for some reason

Kroger sells it for $4.50 while Lidl, Aldi or Walmart for $3.50 in my area;

Two pieces of bacon, 6 roasted sunchola (dark large cherry) tomatoes, 1/2 piece of protein toast, coffee with straight dark cocoa (keto), no sweetener at all. I am really hitting low carb hard starting TODAY.
