I made a big batch of baked ziti Friday night, so much that the overflow had to go in a small round casserole dish.

Was told to try a jarred sauce, so I did. Carbone. It was stupid expensive and not worth the price. It was good but a little too sweet. Even on sale it was 5.99 and I used 2 jars.

Homemade meatballs. I ground the meat myself. Made the Italian sausage myself. 1 lb Italian sausage, 2 lbs ground beef. Mixed with romano cheese and sourdough breadcrumbs.

Fresh mozz scattered throughout

ricotta mixed with a little sour cream, dabbed throughout

1 lb ziti

parmesan and hard mozz for topping

Tis a lot of carbs and cheese. Froze the little overflow casserole. It doesn't take much of it to fill up on. Having a little bagged salad next to it, dressing free. It's good to spear a little bit of meatball and a bit of salad on the fork. Very good bite.
