When I’m doing my walking tours it’s way more comfortable in shorts and a T shirt compared to a jacket and jeans, although once we get into October and November it’s often below 50 in Niagara Falls

Have a look for some good wool pants. They’re comfortable, warm but not too warm, and in dark brown or green look professional for tour guides and park rangers.
