We did some thermal vacuum testing on some new tech solar cells with a solar concentrator (like a magnifying glass to increase the solar load on each cell) for use on space hardware. So we had to simulate them going from no solar load to full solar load, then back to no solar load to simulate them on a vehicles orbiting Earth (basically half hour darkness, 1 hour sunlight), which made them thermally cycle between hot/cold/hot for each orbit.
Test was done in a vacuum chamber with a solar simulator and a light douser for the solar load to simulate them going in and out of sunlight, and we were also measuring their electrical generation performance. The cells got pretty cold during the half hour of darkness, and around the third time they came out of darkness and got full solar load they self destructed ... they couldn't handle the intense thermal shock from the quick change in temperature from the solar concentrators used in the design. Never saw them come back for testing, so probably scrapped the project.

I hope you are not being charged for the "early" payday. If you are, would be a great place to cut.
We get paid every Thursday, but some of my people pay fees to get their check on Tuesdays. What a rip, its only early once, then it's still a week thereafter but of course by the next Tuesday they are desperate again.

As far as I know Wells Fargo does it for free as a courtesy of having a checking account and direct deposit with them.I hope you are not being charged for the "early" payday. If you are, would be a great place to cut.

My parents are back from the beach and boy let me tell you how much I miss my freedom already haha. Apparently my dad’s friend saw me going into Kohl’s with my friend last night so they are super mad about that and wanted to know what I bought and asked why I went and brought him too because I am not supposed to do that. They should be happy I’m buying cool shirts and socks instead of bad things. What they don’t know is I had enough Kohl’s Cash to pay for everything at Kohl’s. They would have a fit if they know I also went to Ross and Target and many other places with my friend and boy we got tons of SpongeBob and beer shirts and other shirts haha. I guess instead of buying shirts I should be saving to live on my own lol.

@AutoMechanic if you don’t have enough motivation to work towards moving out yet, I don’t know what else you are looking for. I would be gone and out of there. None of their business if you want to go to a store or not. Trust me, the freedom you get with moving out is worth all the expenses that come with it.

It’s just the thought of not being able to afford it is what scares me and I know I wouldn’t have any help with any expenses. Anything on the safe end of town is $1,000 plus a month and same for my work town too. Maybe that’s just fear I don’t know.
I think fear of suddenly having a lot of expenses and being responsible for everything is pretty normal. I am trying to remember back to when I moved out and I think I also felt like there were a lot of expenses to suddenly take on at once. I did save up for years before I moved out.
I moved out at 24 years old and had saved 30k which I put down on a house that I bought. Much of that was saved just through part time income while living at home. I only worked full time for maybe 6 months before I moved out.
That down payment made the mortgage only $500 or so a month at that time. Of course that was 8 years ago. My best advice is save up as much as possible towards that goal.

Sit down and do a serious cash flow analysis. Obviously you can't be spending tons of money on needless stuff if you're on your own. I think a lot of young people just like living at home to get out of being financially responsible and then don't handle their finances very well.

You’ll probably always feel like that until you make the move. It sounds like the sooner you jump in and commit to moving out, the better.
No way would I have accepted my parents acting like that. If they had, though, I suppose moving out would have been the remedy.
My wife and I put an offer in on a house this afternoon. The deadline is tomorrow at 6pm but my understanding is we should hear back by noon.
If it’s accepted we’ll have about 10 days to complete inspections, scan for buried oil tanks, etc….

I was very happy about that because I have been wearing a set of Puma shoes for the past few months that I found really comfortable and they were a lot more durable than other brands that I’ve used that didn’t last very long with all of the walking I do with my Niagara tours. I had gotten them from Costco but they were no longer available there 
I recently bought a pair of Skechers from Costco on sale but after wearing them for a few days I found them very uncomfortable so I wanted to go back to Pumas again. I tried a couple of different places in a local mall but they didn’t have what I wanted. But the Puma outlet store had a great selection and great prices too You would love this outlet mall, it has over 100 stores from many major brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Nike, Vans, etc. You name it and they likely have a store! Lots of deals at 30-50% off as well.

That is not cool.
But maybe you need to check yourself as well.
See how long you can go without buying any wants and just buy required necessities.
Not being harsh but you don't need tons of anything and buying things as a feel good isn't good either.
I'm buying a bunch of required house stuff and I don't find it fun or exciting and really it's just another burden.
Check yourself... not an attack but something that you need to do.
Work for you and your future and not a bunch of worthless crap. Peace!
