What are you doing right now?

We looked at 8 houses today!

A couple of them were weird and also smelled super bad. It's surprising that when selling a 7 figure asset, it's not uncommon that people can't be bothered to even clean it up a bit for sale...

One of them was really beautiful... massive, modern kitchen and living room with incredible views. The rest of the house was similar and it had a nice suite. However, outside of the suite, it had only a single bathroom and just two bedrooms upstairs. Not ideal for a family with a daughter coming up to teen years. It's over budget and we would need the income from the suite to make it work so it's a no go due to the lack of flexibility....

We also viewed an early 50's house that's been nicely kept up, in a great neighbourhood, and has a great yard and covered deck. It also has a huge two car garage with a 2nd floor storage area, which would be great as is but we could also make it into a detached suite in the future. Of all the places we've looked at this one is the best so far. It fits the budget and would leave enough to redo the deck (which is a bit rotten), put air conditioning in with the fairly new gas furnace, and also take care of some other odds and ends such a new new electrical panel.

It's exhausting looking but we'll get there.....

I think what quite a few people are suggesting is that it will be a lot easier to find a girlfriend after you move out rather than before.....or at least easier to keep them.

Having said that, I see Roanoke has 100,000 people and the metro area has about 315,000. There's got to be lots of women hanging around there somewhere!

I brought up if @AutoMechanic's parents would allow a GF to live with them only from watching the show COPS. Plenty of episodes where a couple lives with a parent or parents and there's a domestic disturbance. Sometimes you look at the lady and wonder why is that woman who's not half bad looking with that loser bum. Potentially drug addiction but not always.

Feeling a bit sore and my head is super inflated. Was really nice so I went a rail trail yesterday and did 32 miles, and so my body is sore from that--sucks getting older, I remember when I could shrug that off. The cool nights mean that the wife likes to open up the house and so it's getting to where my allergies are going to make me lose track of who I am, that's the stuffy head that hasn't quit this morning. Great, time for the next couple of months to be a blur.

Chatting with my boss (via messages) about career path. Might be time to switch things up a bit. The writing has been on the wall and maybe it's time to slide over, do other things.
 
I had a brain fry today dealing with incompetence with a title company and the orientation staff.

I go to wire funds through my brokerage account and its down right as the stock market opens.. you know they go beat down.

Once up their website is geared to mobile and I couldn't send a wire to a title company on the desktop...no option was given.. had to use my cell and as you typed you can't see...

Then I get an email and all my info wasn't good enough because the title company left out things for security .. I call the TC. And they argue like it's me requesting it. I tell them do it if you want to get paid...

Then I had a someone do the orientation for me and i had to sign a POA and did yesterday and right at the meeting beginning they were telling me they never got it and I had the receipt of doing it... the realtor had it... it went on and on...

Drama...
Why are easy things hard?

Funny the TC bank was Only $250k
Robinhood stepped up for free within an hour and no limit as long as you wire from your brokerage account. I think you need the Gold account which is only $40 a year
 
I mowed my grass in the light rain now because tomorrow is going to be very busy and I'm running out of time... packing stuff to haul Thursday

No it's a business and I'm coming back to finish up the work on it and have tons of machinery and inventory... overwhelming to deal with. Going to the new house to do a minor setup, closing, and get a lawn care guy and all of that stuff..

Had to start somewhere...thanks
