What are you doing right now?

I'm not saying this is how it is, just one idea, among many religions and possibilities.

If those documented cases of kids remembering past lives are actually real, which some scientists claim to have proven using the scientific method, it means consciousness might work like quantum physics where data is transferred but never destroyed. That's a way more solid framework for an afterlife than religion or near-death experiences.
Who says that an afterlife can't be connected to reincarnation and not be constructed and construed as some kind of "software video game"? That's the premise behind someone having a spirit that never dies. The "software video game" analogy people have dreamed up is just a way for them to try and correlate it all with something they understand (ie, video games operating with computer software). Some people probably do believe they are in a Tron like video game ... lots of movies go down that path so it might have something to do with it, lol.

What religion has more solid proof than this?

Think about it. If these kids really have unlearned info from someone who died, shouldn't we seriously look into that? It could mean we aren't just biological hardware.
The spirit (what these guys are calling the "software") doesn't die but is passed on to the next biological vessel instead of not going to some other plane of existence for some reason. But the memory from the previous go-around is suppressed, and will sometimes be triggered by life events and surface. If so, could be a self preservation goal. These are the mysteries that have made every human ponder their existence and what's next after it ends.

I'd be terrified of permanent non-existence and losing the chance to ever exist again. But looking at reality this way makes me think there is a complex system running behind the scenes. While religions give us good moral templates, the afterlife might just be an advanced physics framework that recycles our data instead of a literal heaven or hell. Maybe there is a karma factor, who knows, all theoretical, too much nuance.

If our consciousness is actually preserved and recycled, be it a simulation, reincarnation, etc, wouldn't that be more...comforting?

It might also be more comforting to think you'd go to a better higher plane of existence. :D

One thing is for certain ... when everyone dies, if there is something on the other side you will know it, like reported by people who have had near death experiences and came back. Most of those people had totally different outlooks on life after that experience. If there's nothing and you just "go black" with no awareness, then you won't know anything. Maybe those that go down the "go black" path get "recycled" (reincarnated) for another try. ;)

Interesting ideas, my computer analogy is along the same lines. Who knows what happens, it's just that there is some proof, IMHO, that there might be reincarnation or an afterlife.

Is there a BITOG on the other side? Are we all driving spirit-mobiles? 🤔
